Voters this year say the economy is the number 1 issue. What liberal Democrats don’t get is, when voters say the economy is the most important issue, what they are actually saying is, “I don’t want to pay any more in taxes.” When they see the government bailing people out like a drunken sailor, they are giong to go with the guy they perceive favors lower taxes.

My guess is Rasmussen’s weightings underestimate GOP turnout. Of late, with micro-targeting, GOP turnout has been more like 36-37%, and I expect it to be even higher this year.

People do not support the Bailout and the Bailout is the essence of BIG GOVERNMENT. Obama is BIG GOVERNMENT. McCain needs to oppose the bailout and put out his own conservative reform plan and go head to head on this issue. He had a good plan in 2005 and there is no reason why he shouldn’t push for similar legislation. I don’t know why we need this huge bailout. Targeted government loans to banks that are able to marshal a degree of outside support and meet certain standards should be considered. The problem of turning all the bad loans over to government administration is a nightmare. This think has the potential to balloon out of control and there is a good chance many banks will see this as an opportunity to return to granting the same easy high risk credit that got them into this mess. The difference is this time they would have the government even more as their personal piggy bank. It was Freddie and Fannie’s willingness to buy up subprime loans that caused this mess in the first place. So now we are going to buy up all subprime loans?

These are supposed to be financial geniuses? I’m telling you it is the liberals who throw money at problems. Let’s have a real reform solution not just throw money at this and socialize the problem.

Ramussen has Obama up by 2+ this morning. His once decisive bump has disappeared.

the ABC poll apparently added 15% extra black people to “balance” their poll.

remember 95% does not indicate racism in voters...not.

The Compost and ABC are experts at Dem party and Obama propaganda .
My favorite Compost Dem party operative story was when there reporter Johnny Weismann was caught secretly attending these Dem Party seminars for new Dem Congressional aides about how to ram thru radical left wing legislation after the 2006 election. I sent Johnny a blistering Email and I noticed the Compost stopped publishing there reporters email addresses after that !
Some shock ,this Dem party newsletter is now peddling Push Polls for Obama.b

I'm not too bent out of shape on the poll numbers... however, the MSM is clearly trying to create an air of invincibility for Zero

Well, they're not doing a very good job. Tied nationally, and McCain is tied or leading slightly electorally. And something I don't think they can get back is the conservative surge in enthusiasm put in place a bit by McCain fighting back hard, but mostly by his selection of Gov. Palin. The Dems are in trouble, and they know it.

They were hoping for a repeat in 2006 turnout. Now they're scared to death of a 2004 turnout. You'll remember the libs were fired up and Dems turned out like they never had before, giving a North Vietnamese hero the second largest number of votes in Presidential history. Unfortunately the media's abhorrent behavior back then truly pissed off the conservative base, so that we became broken-glass voters and President Bush won by over three million votes.

Heck, even the Natl Republican Senatorial Committee outraised its Dem counterpart by about a million last month. And the Senate Pubbies are seriously swimming upstream. So I'm sure House and gubernatorial candidates in competitive races are seeing the benefits of this past month as far as fundraising and the surge in volunteers.

I think they should underweight Black people because of where they live. Alabama will go Republican in spite of heavy Black turnout and Maryland or New York will go Dem in spite of heavy Black turnout. I’d say 65% of the Black vote is moot because they live in states that always go the same way in the Electoral College regardless of how the Blacks vote.

It wasn’t an “outlier.” It was fraud, plain and simple. 38% Dems, 28% Republicans, and heavily oversampled blacks. Are you kidding? It’s outrageous that anyone would publish it, let alone publicize it.

“Hopefully by posting on FreeRepublic at least it stops us from having a heart attack today! Oh, and it should assure all of us that we are correct in the TRUE picture of this election...not one cooked by MSM.”

***
Must ever bear in mind that
most polls harbor 4 systematic flaws:

1. Overweighting Party ID;
2. RVs not as reliable as LVs;
3. Respondents not wanting pollsters to think they’re “racist” (Bradley effect);
4. Non-citizens ... multiple voters ... and the dead are not polled - but do vote.

Each might account for a 2 to 4 point swing.
Only the last one favors Dems.

Therefore, add anywhere from 4 to 8 points for McPalin
to get a truer reading.

Is this why Rush has been saying that Obama must lead by 10 in the polls in order to win?

Poll watching is bad for my health, yet I do it anyway.

Yeah, I agree. It's like a fat girl dancing naked. You hate yourself for watching but can't turn away.
