McCain ad sends Daley into a gear-grinding frenzy

McCain ad sends Daley into a gear-grinding frenzy John Kass September 24, 2008

All it took was one TV ad by Republican Sen. John McCain daring to mention the Chicago Democratic Machine—the machine we're told does not exist—to unleash Mayor Chucky.

"If people start throwing dirt and mud—remember it comes back and hits you right in the face," said Mayor Richard Daley, snarling, pointing his finger on Tuesday, positively chuckified.

"I think, to put my brother Bill in there—they want to put me in there, fine, they put me in there all the time anyway," he said.

The McCain ad did not put him in there. But it put brother Billy in there as a lobbyist, and the mayor kept repeating "He's not a lobbyist! He's not a lobbyist! He's never been a lobbyist," even though Bill Daley was no mere lobbyist.

Daley defends brother, blasts McCain ad Billy was a lobbyist's lobbyist. And when he became U.S. Secretary of Commerce under Bill Clinton, Bill Daley traveled to Prague to teach American companies there how not to get themselves shaken down by local political bosses. I'm not kidding. Now he wants to be the next governor.

Others mentioned in the ad were Obama's real estate fairy, the convicted influence peddler Tony Rezko; outgoing state Senate President Emil Jones (D-ComEd); and Gov. Rod "The Unreformer" Blagojevich. Each was trotted out as a component of the Chicago Democratic Machine backing the machine's own self-professed reformer, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Rezko/Daley).

This is a good threat given that it’s coming from the city whose dead people elected JFK.

“”If people start throwing dirt and mud—remember it comes back and hits you right in the face,””

I take this as a veiled threat that on election day the dead in Chicago’s cemeteries will rise again and vote for the “O”.

Hey Mayor Daley...

Your father, the original Mayor Daley, is rolling over in his grave right now. He stood on the top step of city hall and called out the Jesse Jackson poverty pimps, he didn’t get in bed with them.

CHANGE CHICAGO STYLE

Body count. In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago , 221 killed in Iraq .

Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin,

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.,

Gov. Rod Blogojevich,

House leader Mike Madigan,

Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),

Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of former Mayor Richard J. Daley).....the leadership in Illinois .....all Democrats.

Chicago is a combat zone. Of course they're all blaming each other.

Can't blame Republicans, they're aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look'em up if you want). Chicago school system one of the worst in country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois .

He's gonna 'fix' Washington politics?

You’re right, except for Lisa Madigan who has pretty consistently done the right thing. She’s different than the rest of the slimeballs, at least so far. You can’t choose your relatives.

"McCain ad sends Daley into a gear-grinding frenzy"

Ooooh, I bet McCain is scared.

Daley can't do a thing to him. He's used to strong-arm tactics in his pissant town but it's not like he can ... um ... throw an election or anything.

Lessee ...

* Dead people already vote in Chicago.

* Illinois is already an unchallenged Democratic state.

So all he can do is screech and howl and whine like a stuck pig -- an apt description, I might add.

McCain is a fighter pilot and spent five years in captivity. You think he's scared by a putz like Richard Daley?

Piker. In three months Paulson is going to be holding self-improvement seminars for DC officials on how not to get shaken down by investment bankers.

What a picture of da Mare. LoL.

This is a city where the Mob had their own Congressman sitting on the House Banking Committee for years. Corrupt does not even get close to describing the politicians who infest this city.

That’s what happens when you touch a live wire. Sparks fly-as they were intended to do. I’m still not a McCain fan—too socially left for me. But I am enjoying how he’s taking it to the dems. And he picked a ligitimate conservative in Gov. Palin. He has set Pubbie Party up pretty well for the future.

If McCain had not picked Palin, he would have had to pick someone just like her for me to vote for him. I will vote the McCain/Palin ticket. Can’t change anything if your on the outside looking in. With Palin as Veep, conservatives have at least a shot at eventually driving the train.
