We won with the Democrats in control. We can win on this Bailout too. It should be a requirement that all in Congress who received funds from those associated with Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae should have to return the contributions.

It won't be a victory if Obama is elected. He will just put the executive order right back in place. Then sign whatever congress passes.

We won! We won! We won! We won!
YEAY!!
This is the best thing that could’ve happened to our nation!

Is this even completely true? I read another story in 2 or 3 places that said the Democrats had folded Nancy Pelosi's non-drilling Drill Bill into the funding bill about to be passed and that it had already been passed in the house and sent to the Senate yesterday.
If true, then this "victory" with the lapse of the offshore ban is a very tainted win if it's even a win at all.
Anyone have more information on this ?

If this opens up the areas formerly off limits, then the oil companies should start slamming oil wells down as fast as they can drill, before the left comes up with a bunch of liberal federal judges to stop it.

And then hand Congress right back to the GOP. Gas prices will increase again next summer and the noise will be heard again. If the dems don’t do something to get gas flowing and oil pumping then they are out in 2010.

The RATS were able to loose in silence..due to the current crisis. But they will be back. They will use enviromental laws to block all new leases..or drilling. Just wait. We still need ANWR in the worst way. The whole AK Pipeline may be shut down without the new reserves coming on line.
Palin is now like McCain’s wife. If she’s happy..he’s happy and she want ANWR. So she will convince him, if elected. So we need to vote for Palin.

McCain could take the lead on the issue by returning the money and then calling on ALL politicians to do likewise.

This whole article is written from the perspective of the Democrats...as usual. Nothing is mentioned about that the result was good for the country.

I said this in a similar thread yesterday and I'll say it again:
Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
The 'rats are full of trickery. Look for an anti-drilling earmark on any finincial bailout bill tomorrow (two bad moves in one bill, imagine that!). They want to kill this country by any means necessary. It's too bad that we don't have the intestinal fortitude to fight them off.

Don’t celebrate too much. If “the one” gets elected he just reinstates the executive order banning drilling. The victory isn’t complete until McCain take the oath.

What if the Senate doesn’t vote to overturn the ban? Is the ban still in place?
