Al Gore called Wednesday for "civil disobedience" to combat the construction of coal power plants without the ability to store carbon, Reuters reported.
The former vice president, whose efforts to raise awareness of global warming have made him the most prominent voice on that issue, made the comment during a session at the fourth annual Clinton Global Initiative in Manhattan.

Al should take a long walk off a short pier
Man, he’s bats. I mean, really really bats.
For the good of the planet’s atmosphere, I suggest that we gag AlBore and cut down on the hot gas escaping.
The Goracle was later heard to say, “What am I going to do with all these damn “carbon credit certificates? I’ve got a whole boxcar load of them!” LOL!
Where is Al planning his protests? Here in this country?
Has he thought about taking his followers to China and setting up a civil disobedience system there? China is producing far more pollution than we are, and they make no efforts to control pollution from their coal fired power plants. Whereas we do have pollution controls, though not up to the standards of His Holiness Al Gore of the Church of Global Warming.
Those loonie lefties should show that they really mean it by turning off all electrical devices for one full week. Including those powered by batteries.
Seeing how this carbon storage stuff is in fact a lucrative business and in some cases a complete con, someone needs to prosecute AlGore under RICO when the “civil disobedience” crimes start occurring.
Geez just what we need a former VP to say! Amazing how he can still say he’s trying to help people. He is after Power and Money just like all liberals. You jerk!! Those plants EMPLOY regular hard working folks. You know those fly over people who DIDN”T vote for you in 2000.
Gore appears to be trying hard to out do Jimmy Carter as the worst ex.
Isn’t this incitement to crime or something?
This issue could seal the deal for McCain in PA. Coal is a big part of their economy there. If Obama and his buddy Algore continues to oppose further exploration into coal, or civil disobedience to it, expect a sizable shift to McCain in PA
Hmm.....
And just how does this help your Exalted One?
Oh wait......now I get it. YOU’RE the Exalted One.
Uh-oh...
Just an aside — go to YouTube and check out the “final trailer” for the new James Bond film, “Quantum of Solace.” The villain looks remarkably like Al Gore, and his name is “Greene.”
Methinks the Bond series is discarding a bit of the PC it has been saddled with of late.
does he still wonder why he lost Ohio?
Let's all chip in to buy them tickets to China to protest and “civilly disobey” about ‘dirty coal’ plants there.
We wouldn't have to worry about them getting in the way of Clean Coal & nuke plants any more.
I think stoning Al with chunks of coal would be fulfilling his call for civil disobedience.
Arrest the silly sonuvabitch.
If anyone seeks proof of the existence of God, consider this. The moron Algore was within a couple of hundred hanging chads from being President.
Praise be to God for His mercy upon us.
Truly pathetic from a former VP.
gore tard must think the whole world revolves around him.
we’ve got a presidential election building,
and a world economic meltdown.
Where does electric power come from?
Why the socket, of course!
Poor Al. Al...Look in the mirror...That’s a big “L” on your forehead. I hope you lose your shirt.
Guess what Santa is bringing Al for Christmas.
Algore is awsome. He invented the iternets AND global warming, the 2 biggest things in our time.
Do they actually not realize how much of an absolute joke this idiot is?
What a hypocrite, the way he lives.
Excellent - that’ll play well in OH and PA (41 EV’s)
These people don’t have a lick of sense.
The problem is most of the younger generation he is trying to foment this kind of reaction from have absolutely NO IDEA what civil disobedience is. Is it that dang course I have to take to get in a college???
We have so dumbed down the younger folks, who have never read “Civil Disobedience” and don’t know what the heck it is. Plus they are too lazy surfing the web, checking out Perez Hilton or TMZ, to even care about carbon credits. Will that get me to graduate on time?? Somebody said credits.
McCain will suspend his campaign after attending this cluster-flock?
ps
If you had won Tennessee (YOUR HOME STATE YOU MORON) you would have been the President of the United States. However it would appear that the good people of Tennessee knew the real Al Gore and voted Republican>
Al will get my coal when he preys it from my cold, clammy fingers!
They must have polling in PA that says it is already over for them there. That or Gore knows that BO almost can’t win without PA.....and GORE wants a shot in 2012.
As long as he doesn't dirty his hands.
But he should be arrested as an instigator once violence breaks out...and it will.
So the former Vice President and Presidential candidate now calls for civil disobedience if he doesn’t get his way. We are beginning to resemble the politics of a “banana republic”, because some people insist on getting their way.
Please return your Nobel “Peace” prize at your earliest convenience.
How bout we cause Civil Disobedience at his energy wasting house or jet?
Pray for W, Palin and Our Troops
Gore MUST still being paid for closing the Escanlante Steps from mining of Super Low SulFur coal.
This sounds far-fetched but with Biden’s gaffe in Pennsylvania when he said ‘No Clean Coal Plants in an Obama Administration and this recent outpouring from Gore who really knows better, knows he should keep quiet during a presidential election... I think Hillary is pulling Biden and Gore’s strings, they might both be working for her now and trying to derail the Obama campaign.
Did they get this on videotape, this would be great to play to the coal miners.
Those kind of things cut deeply into snake oil sales. That's why he is screaming so loudly.
By the way, how many coal fired plants does it take to keep his house in electricity? Two? Three?
Isn’t inciting a riot illegal?
Not if you are a DemocRAT or a member of a oppressed minority.
Within the last couple of weeks, a court in the United Kingdom acquitted protesters who had damaged a coal burning electrical power plant. Their defense ... necessity - that it's acceptable to commit a small crime to stop a larger harm or for the common good. The trial had a number of environmental "experts" (all from the left, of course, including one from the USA) testifying about how many residents near the plant would be killed by pollution, how many would be displaced by global warming, etc. etc. etc.
As a side note, "necessity" is a recognized defense in the US as well. For example, you are lost in the woods in the the middle of winter and come upon an uninhabited cabin and break in to save your life. Necessity is a defense against a charge of burglary. What Al Gore seems to be saying is that he would like to see necessity extended to cover sabotage to "environmentally harmful" facilities here. In other words, the ELF burns down a GMC Hummer dealership and is acquitted because they saved future lives.
