[history]
NEW YORK — NBC News reporter Luke Russert said he made a "dumb" misstatement on the "Today" show Wednesday when he suggested that smart people supported Barack Obama for president.
Almost immediately, Russert took a hazing in the Web world. Wrote Tim Graham of the conservative Media Research Center on the NewsBusters blog: "Out of the mouths of young, untrained reporters come the unspoken beliefs of the liberal media."

It doesn’t really matters what this liberal says we know his mentality. He said exactly what he thinks and this is the crux. The reality is he actually spoke some truth. The “smartest” people will vote for Obama, while the “wisest” people will not vote for him, they will vote for someone else, or for McCain.

Just speaking his mind is all. If you listen long enough, liberals will tell you what they really think.
That is the thing...like pathological liars, they have to constantly watch what comes out of their mouth lest they give themselves away.
But give them a drink, a microphone or a giddy crowd of supporters, and...they eventually let you in on the “secret”...what they REALLY think.

Let us all reassure NBC News sponsors how we feel about such.
Let's start voting with our pocket books and contact the sponsors.
They don't like it when people reflect negatively on their products.

My guess is those comments wouldn't play all that well in Blacksburg. There's enough of an inferiority complex down there when it comes to UVA.

Hey, Luke, don’t worry. You’ll learn how to say things like “I was taken out of context” and “the right-wing hate machine is at it again, twisting my words”. Just give yourself time and don’t be sad.

"Today was one of my first lessons in the perils of live television," he said. "Lesson learned." What "lesson" did he learn? -- that biased journalist should pretend they're objective? That born and bred members of the MSM are elitists who must pretend to be like everyday Americans? Gimme a break Russert, if you really want to "learn" something, try being authentic - and take your knocks for it. That's what your Dad did and he made out just fine.

Actually, I always thought that Tim Russert was one of the most objective political talk show hosts and quite fair. Yes, sometimes he did show his true self, but it was very seldom. He did try hard to remain fair across the board, though.
I wonder, if he were still alive, how he’d go about interviewing Sarah Palin. I think he would not be the ‘horror show’ that Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric have been.

This is true not just of the media but the libs in general. For all their talk of being tolerant and inclusive they are surprisingly self-righteous and convinced of their moral superiority against all empirical evidence.
Which explains the ease with which they treat opponents with such contempt. Being inherently superior they feel entitled to sneer at the lesser lights.
