I don’t agree with you in the least. There is still plenty of time before the election and this economy snafu will come to light by then....even without the MSM’s help.

I have been completely optimistic McCain will win, even long before Palin was on the ticket. There are more people than you think that simply will not vote for a black man for President. In the end, they’re going to tell you that once inside that curtain and pulling that lever.

Rasmussen has never come across as Obama-biased. This poll may or may not be accurate, but it is disconcerting nonetheless. Taken with most other polls, there is an obvious turn in this election bigtime towards Obama/against Mccain.
Two reasons: financial mess and the Borking of Sarah Palin.
Game is not over but Obama has the 4th qtr lead and possession of the ball...

no denying were are seeing a major electoral shift, and we are in danger. its really sad that average america would trust Obama with the economy over mccain.

The survey must have been taken in Durham.

Don't forget Chapel Hill!

I am going to put on the line right now and make this prediction.

Here are the final results

McCain 310 (+Red from 04: MN, PA, NH, ME-CD2)

Obama 228 (+Blue from 04: IA; NM)

I have a feeling that it is going to be close everywhere.

I agree - I think there will be more relatively close states this election than in any election since....?

I have yet to meet a NC business person who is for Obama — even in Chapel Hill. Many are hiding their voting intentions because the Obama people go ballistic at the mention of Palin or McCain. It is simply not good for business to have these deranged idiots yelling at you in front of customers.

Expect McCain to win by 8 points.

Folks, the privacy of the average American has become so compromised that most, out of fear of some sort of retribution, are afraid to tell a pollster they are not voting for Obama.

Good point. I got a phone call about a month ago from a polling outfit and I couldn't slam down the phone fast enough.

it is the BIGGEST DEMOCRAP SCREW-UP IN HISTORY

There are LOTS of Democrap screwups to complete.

1. When LBJ and Hoover teamed up to kill JFK and then cover it up with the Warren Commission and the intimidation of the press to produce the mystery, is that bigger?

2. Jimmy Carter, nothing else needs to be said.

3. When Bill Clinton faced with OKC bombing and the overwhelming evidence that EIGHT IRAQI soldier/defectors from GULF WAR I were involved with McVeigh and Nichols with a TRANSPARENT PLOT to blow up the FED building, he lied and tried to tie it first to Rush Limbaugh and the right.....

4. When TWA800 was shot down in 1996, hundreds of witnesses said there was at least ONE missile and maybe TWO MISSILES that were fired at the plane. The White House forced the NTSB to come up with a center fuel tank explosion as the explanation. IT was an absolute BS explanation but “we” as a society apparently accepted it. Said one TWA pilot: “90 percent of us believe there was a government cover-up.”

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=23367

5. When clear ties to Iraq were found with the 9/11 attacks, the 9/11 Commission ignored/hid them just like the Warren Commission did years earlier. The NY SLIMES NEVER misses an opportunity to tell us that there were no ties to IRAQ in 9/11 attacks. PLEASE!!!!!

Demcocrats are worse? Actually they are BOTH, Repubs and Democraps, trying to hide the truth. LIARS? IT’s MUCH worse than that, WE THE PEOPLE need to get control before it’s too late, or did Bill Clinton long ago pass that point in history?

CONSPIRACIES? It’s much worse than that, a gov’t that can lie at will, the PRESS will never call them on it. I can give you THOUSANDS of reasonable links to call the official sceanrios into question, some are simply sufficient to prove they are lies, but no, we continue to live in “mystery” or “conspiracy theory.”

> vote for a black man for President.

With all my heart, I hope that this is a false assumption.

The reasons I cannot vote for Obama are purely IDEOLOGICAL, not based on his ancestry.

I voted for Alan Keyes, who is black, because his IDEOLOGY is more congruent with mine than McCain’s. Palin is way closer to my ideology than anybody on the President or VP ticket since Ron Regan.

As for Obama’s ancestry, I submit that more people will be voting FOR him than AGAINST him for his ancestry. A lot of these folks think that “it’s about time” we had a president of afro or partial afro ancestry. Of course, ancestry is the completely wrong reason to vote for or against anybody.

My reasons for voting for or against anybody have always been based on ideology, not ancestry or gender.

Well then, Obama should be leading or close in many southern states with heavily black cities like Atlanta.
If Obama isn't competitive in Georgia, he isn't winning North Carolina.
Believe what you want.

telephone surveys also wont get the military vote, which is significant in NC. as to the blueing of NC, remember that from 90 to 00 over 20000 out of state residents moved to the Raleigh area alone evert year. This Bostonian moved there as did plenty of New Yorkers. The town next door to Raleigh is Cary, refered to as “Concentrated Area of Relocated Yankees” I don’t find it surprising that it is going blue.

he's on the cusp of victory in Pennsylvania

If he doesn't have a very solid lead, then he's behind in PA, as long as voter fraud is so rampant.

The Philly suburbs are largely Obama-supporting, too.

Here in California, I don’t know how many times I have gotten the thmubs-up sign or a wave of the hand from drivers whose car sports the sticker ‘Hillary!’.

My car has that magnetic WND bumper sticker ‘NObama.’

That’s what they said in 1996 when Jesse Helms ran for reelection. All these yankees were going to vote in Harvey Gantt, didn’t happen.

These yankees also didn’t vote in Kerry.

Of course Obama is not ahead in North Carolina, for goodness sake. If he's winning in NC, then why not other southern states. What is it about North Carolina that has the media calling it a “battleground” state?
GMAB!!!
The demographics couldn't shift THAT much in 4 years.
This state gave Bush a double digit win.

I drove this morning into work on the Fairfax County Parkway in VA between 7:30 and 8. Didn’t see one, nada, Obama sticker on any car. Went to the grocery store in NoVa on sunday 6pm. Not a single Obama sticker on any car.

There are more people than you think that simply will not vote for a black man for President.

I don't think that's true.

I think there are a lot of people who won't vote for a black man (um, half-black) like Barack Hussein Obama for president. These people know and like many black people personally, but Obama is not like the blacks they know. The blacks they know are religious, have American values and common sense, and share cultural affinities with them. Obama's a socialist revolutionary from Chicago.
