Presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama remain locked in a close battle with less than six weeks remaining until Election Day, according to a national poll.
Republican McCain leads his Democratic opponent by 45 to 43 percent -- a statistical dead heat -- according to the Franklin & Marshall College Poll conducted for Hearst-Argyle television stations, including Tribune-Review news partner WTAE-TV.

It comes down to a) how well McCain can inspire the GOP base and conservatives and b) how well the rats hide the thousands of ballot boxes containing pre completed ballots.
“Oh look, another box in my trunk. How’d that get there?” - Palm Beach poll worker.
Very interesting poll, I hope it makes it’s way around the internet, much to the MSM’s dismay.
“Oh look, another box in my trunk. Howd that get there? - Palm Beach poll worker.”
Sounds like Seattle, St Louis and Chicago as well.
If McCain takes PA, I don’t see how the Messiah can make it.
My father, an Illinois cop for 25 years, used to say, “every time they drag the Chicago River for a body, they find another box of Nixon ballots from the the 1960 election....”
There are a lot of blue collar types undecided in this election in PA. This is probably the best possible year for the GOP to pick up PA again. What will matter the most is getting out the vote. Obama is going to win Philly by a huge margin what he has a big problem with is that he hasn’t really picked up Hillary voters and he can not win without a them. People are still pissed off about the clinging to guns and faith comment. The NRA is going to play a huge role in PA.
That Obama is even close to McCain is a testimony to the stupidity of the American people. The guy is a complete NOTHING.
This is what I emailed them about their own Fox poll.....
Why do you not mention other national polls that show McCain up . There are 2 at RCP right now! Battleground tracking has McCain up 1 . A new F&M/Hearst-Argyle poll also has McCain up Nationally today by 2. Seems to me it would be fair and balanced to report that Opinion Dynamics performance over history has shown a edge for Dems, just go back to Fox News the morning after the 2004 election! You had Scott Rasmussen and the head of Opinion Dynamics on to explain where they went wrong. Ras had it almost dead on, Opinion Dynamics guy was sheepish. He said we thought the last poll before the election may have been suspect but we released it anyway. At the time Enemy networks where shouting from the rooftops that Fox poll showed Kerry with a big edge in their final poll.
Again Yesterday, Chris Mathews was quoting the Fox News poll as Gospel. He hates Fox but loves your poll.
“If McCain takes PA, I dont see how the Messiah can make it.”
It will require a lot to counter the fraud effort that will be ginned up in Philadelphia.
The smaller towns of Pa should just hold back on their reporting of vote totals until Philadelphia releases theirs and that vote tallies greater than 100 percent of various voting districts’ registrations should be thrown out!
Anyone know how they weighted the sampling?
The Good thing apout the polls is that there is one for everybody. Some show McCain ahead, at least one shows Obama ahead and Gallup has them tied. So pick a poll, andy poll.
I think you can go to F&M website and see the PDF of the poll sampling
I’m from Arizona, visiting relatives, so don’t have a handle on the current scene. Southern Lancaster County homes (Strasburg area) don’t have many yard signs, but when they do, they are by a vast majority, for McCain. Is this normally Pubbie country? If not, OBama will be creamed.
