Alcee Hastings Impeached Federal Judge
Congressional Rep. Alcee Hastings was a federal Judge.
In 1989 Democratic Rep. John Conyers served as the chairman of the House Judiciary subcommittee that investigated Hastings who was charged with taking bribes.
Conyers and the subcommittee unanimously recommended that Hastings be impeached. The charges were heard by the House and they voted 413 to 3 to impeach Hastings.
Conyers went on to serve as one of the House impeachment managers who successfully argued before the Senate that Hastings should be convicted and removed from office.
Hastings was stripped of his position as a federal judge for conspiring to extort a $150,000 bribe in a case before him, repeatedly lying about it under oath and manufacturing evidence at his trial.
In 1992 Hastings was then elected to serve in the same Congress that impeached him.
In 1999 he made a run for Governor but didn't get very far.
I'm Jewish and I know who my real enemies are. They aren't Republicans and they usually aren't white people. African-Americans are 3x more anti-semitic than white people in America according to polls. Muslims are way more antisemitic than Christians. Democrats are more antisemitic than Republicans.

I called my congressman yesterday about many issues including this topic of race. Things must be getting serious because his staffer was going to put me through to talk directly to him. I declined. I turned on c-span a half hour later and there he was fighting for vets and the troops.

No, he was impeached by the US House of Representatives and convicted and removed from office by the US Senate, who unfortunately did not ban him from holding federal office, as they could have.
