Lindsay Graham on Fox Now. Says there was never any agreement on bailout bill between dems and Repubs. Best nugget: Dems have inserted provision into their bill to give several billion (with a "b") dollars to ACORN. ACORN is probably the most corrupt organized crime organization involved in voting fraud and intimidation.
There is no bill. Rep. Barney Frank was on MSNBC wailing about Repub treachery and bad-mouting all the Repubs who met today with Bush. Chris Dodd said, "I'm going home" and walked out.
My sense is that the Dems tried to bully McCain into supporting the Dem bill. When he refused, they had a tantrum.
No money should go to Acorn, that was not in original consensus.
“My sense is that the Dems tried to bully McCain into supporting the Dem bill. When he refused, they had a tantrum.”
Good.
Let them throw a hissy.
Whineing weasels
More Lindsey ping.
There is a need for a bill, but the Republicans now have a chance with McCain to do something that is better for the taxpayers.
Was just searching for this! Someone just told me about it! Can you believe it? The nerve...lol
If the republicans leak to the American people all of the pork the dems were trying to add...they are going to revolt!!
CHECKMATE DEMS!! LOL
Doesn’t Obama have some connection to ACORN?

Isn’t that ACORN organization the communist voter fraud front? Bound for the Democrats to load ANY bill down with so much PORK and fringe benefits for themselves and their buddies that it is worthless. All the Pelosi bunch has done is block and stall. EVERYONE should scream.
Obama has Acron out as we speak committing voter fraud for him
Wooohooo! One can only hope ACORN screwed the pooch.
When good compromises with evil, it is only evil that can profit.
-Ayn Rand-
“Doesnt Obama have some connection to ACORN?”
Certainly. ACORN is the foremost authority on how to use “community organizing” to promote socialism among the downtrodden.
ACORN????
SHOE ABOUT TO DROP!
Can’t the Dems ever do anything without larding the legislation with gifts to their supporters?
That’s a rhetorical question. I know what the answer is.
The Dems are screaming bloody murder to get this passed STAT because the more time passes, the more damning info gets out to the American people about how deep they are in this mess and the less chance they’ll have at stuffing it with pork to save their crooked quid pro quo setups.
“Doesnt Obama have some connection to ACORN?”
He was a “community organizer” for them.
ACORN??? ACORN does VOTE FRAUD!!!! Is this for REAL?? The Criminal Enterprise ACORN was going to get some of our money??? NO WAY, JOSE!
Was it billions or millions...not that it matters..but it does. We need to get the numbers on it...plus the rest of the democrat pork numbers!!
Will go see what I can find.
No Money to Acorn. Let’s send some Acorns to D.C. tell them no way. Really a rabid squirrel would be more appropriate.
He was ACORN’S lawyer back in his community organizer days.
Why are we just hearing about ACORN getting some of this money just now????
The only thing standing between the American people and this porker is John McCain. He’d better put country first.
“Rep. Barney Frank was on MSNBC wailing about Repub treachery”
What about the Democrats trying to take advantage of a difficult situation? Sheese, can’t they have some principles one time?
The demoncrats thought they could bully McCain? The guy who spent five years in the Hanoi Hilton, was tortured and abused? They are stupider than I thought.
“The Dems are screaming bloody murder to get this passed STAT because the more time passes,”
A friend set me straight on this.
The reason Bush pushed so fast and cried the sky is falling down is that the only way the bill could pass was with the time pressure on Congress tomorrow.
Probably coordinated with Schumer, Dodd and Frank a dog and pony show starting last Friday to stampede Congress.
Both sides asked for too much. On Bush’s side,no oversight, no criminal liability, just give Paulson billions to do as he pleased.
I'd like to know the answer to this question myself. I've only been watching the news ALL DAY.
I’m wondering if Bush gave them the rope to hang themselves with!! Thier heads would explode if he pulled this off!!
Yep.....I just heard on Fox news that the reason the bill unraveled is because the Dims wanted ACORN to receive 20% of the bailout monies.
A-freakin-men.
What the HELL?? No way, no how, no matter what! Every Freeper on the planet would be compelled to march on DC if this were allowed to happen! Is this for real? Please tell me this is a joke, right?
When I talked to my sources in DC yesterday none of them had seen the deal yet, and they all expected to be there through til Saturday, maybe even working thru til Sunday....
for the Dems to claim McCain spoiled the deal is a flat out lie....
Well. We'll see how things progress. Let Barry ZER-O whine, whimper, simper, shriek and shout. They are all a bunch of PATHETIC losers!
Thanks for the ping.
Screw being nice
This needs to be a McCain ad now!
Obama’s party couldn’t resist bring politics into the most serious financial crisis in our time by giving a massive pork gift of 2 billion dollars to their favorite corrupt democrat vote manufacturing machine.
BINGO
Here is the outline of the Republican plan; essentially insurance for MBS and a loosening of regulations and taxes to encourage private recapitalization of financials. Have no idea about feasibility; that is, if the plan will peacefully promote the unwinding of $60 trillion (notional value) of derivatives without crashing the world economy.
The Democrats have the votes to pass anything they wish through the House and the Senate (absent the two-thirds rule). They don't need agreement from McCain.
> The reason Bush pushed so fast and cried the sky is falling down is that the only way the bill could pass was with the time pressure on Congress tomorrow.
Is it possible Bush just dangled a plum that he knew the Dems would jump at, and would repel the Republican House? In addition to doing something, rather than nothing (i.e., getting the ball rolling), it allies the RATs with the hated Bush, thus improving Mac’s maverick status.
It also exposes the RATs as gutless wonders, when they claim that (though they want the socialist bill desperately) they won’t vote for it unless the Republicans do (for fear of voter backlash). Is that leading, or playing the standard CYA game of Washington?
I do not believe the two are not related.
I do not believe the two are related.
Hard to believe that the Democrats thought that giving a fifth of the hundreds of billions to ACORN would fly with Republicans. Sounds like Obama/Reid/Pelosi wanted the proposed legislation to be rejected in order to fix the blame on McCain.
I should have been clearer.
Bush plotted this because of the time of Congressional ADJOURNMENT tomorrow. He created an exagerated sense of crisis, like he did with the Immigration stunts.
The Dems Schumer, etc., might have been with hm from the begnning, or grabbed the “plum.” They needed a cover story, the usual one, is that they are doing this for poor people.
The truth is, they are the party of wall street money houses.
Things didn’t go well in the beginning of the week, so Bush pulled out his usual tricks, like in the immigrration matter, send Cheney, meet personally at the white house, go on TV and scare the people.
In this interpretation, there is no crisis more or less than a few weeks ago. Bush was making a play that the time pressure of adjournment and the need to get back home to campaign would railroad this quickly through. The more I think of it, the more I think this is what Bush was doing to get his ugly bill through.
As usual, he asked for too much and so did the Democrats.
Our House Republicans do one for the GIPPER once again! I thought Boehner was going to fold yesterday. Feel bad for saying so now. Looks like he was a rock..right along with Pence and the usual supsects of patriotism!! lol
WOOHOO!!
oops..’suspects of patriotism’.
You could be right. At least it seems plausible.
You make an extremely important observation there.
Is there more than one “ACORN”? Perhaps the one they’re talking about is a housing organization, rather than the community organizing organization we’re all too familiar with?
No money to ACORN.
Quick, get a suit for voter fraud filed against them quickly.
Oops. After reading the article on Michelle Malkin, it seems they are indeed related. Sorry for jumping the gun.
LOL!— I thought Boehner was going to fold quicker than cheap lawn furniture myself...
he was quoted as saying to put ideology aside and get this passed......I guess he was either misquoted, or Paulson had him scared too....
I am VERY proud of Pence.....dayam! the MAN ROCKS!
