Obama 'swooping in': McCain adviser (buying up time McCain released)

Steve Schmidt told the pool tonight that Sen. Obama is acting "in a political predatory fashion" by "swooping in" and buying up advertising time that Sen. McCain has released in order to focus on the economic crisis. He said McCain is working the phones tonight, trying to round up the votes to get the legislation passed and talked extensively about the perils that face the nation if a deal is not reached.

He also said that McCain is still hoping to be at the debate and looking forward to debating Obama. "He's been excited and looking forward to these debates. He had actually hoped this would be the 11th debate of the campaign, not the first. He's very disappointed in Sen. Obama about that because this could have been the 11th debate. Sen. Obama said he would debate anywhere, anyplace, anytime. He refused to do that," Schmidt said.

By my calender, the pres-elect will have to wait another 10 weeks past that 40 days before he will be ?responsible for dealing with this mess...?

Obama thinks the Media will annoint him on November 5th and not have to wait until January 20th to be President.

Actually, if some in the media had their way, we shouldn’t even have to wait for an election!

It does save his campaign money to run adds latter. Also the spotlight is on him now and he isn’t having to pay anything for that.

I don’t think it is cheating either on Obama’s part.

I agree. Let Obama have the spots now. It just calls more attention to the fact that Obama is wasting time playing politics while McCain is taking care of business.

Oh come on--Obama's "swooping in" would be praised as "maerick" if McCain did it.

While I am fully behind McCain going to DC, I think he is in danger of overplaying his hand. He should go to the debate tomorrow and basically say "They may not need YOU, Senator, but I felt like I had to do my job." And he should bring up the economy as much as possible and watch Obama stutter "That's not what I studied for!"

Obama has no scruples at all.

Seems to be a Democrat trait.

The name of the game is to win....McCain gave up that advertising time...Obama took it to get his message out there. The DEMS bash and blame repubs for everything, the repubs say nothing. The Chicago Thug just might be our next President...doesn’t matter HOW he got the job.

Classic lawyer technique: accuse your adversary of doing the exact thing you are doing.

Classless. But should we expect more from B. Hussien Obama?

Besides, no one is listening to ads now. They are watching what ios going on. Millions of undecided voters opposed to a bailout saw John McCain step up and lead during an economic crisis while B. Hussien Obama sat on the sideline and supported a bailout.

There goes Obama’s strong hand. Now he has no ace in the hole.

“OBAMA=ACORN”.

Yes - a scary, radical, fraudulent, anti-American organization that BHO lawyered for and championed in his (in)famous “community activist” days. AND, I heard Newt give a great explanation tonight on H&C about the problem points of the Paulson Bill vs. an alternative one that the vast majority of Americans would be in favor of. I didn’t realize till tonight that, in the currently proposed paulson bill, 20% of the monies, rather than go toward debt retirement, would go to ACORN - for “housing programs”.

Well, that alone was enough for me. Does the public know about ACORN and BHO? No. Does the public know about this vast sum of $$ to go to ACORN in this current bill on the table? No.

Another example of the sinister BHO network. Yet the “public” will turn out in droves to vote.

Where in VA? Apparently it’s running on NBC stations, which I don’t watch, so I’d have missed it anyway.

Earlier O’Reilly had Megyn Kelly on, talking about the FEC rules, no coordination between the 527’s and campaigns. BOR focused on its being produced by Hpward Dean’s brother.

I wonder, tho, about the connection between the two doctors and Dr. Dean or Mrs. Dr. Dean. Both Howard Dean and his wife are M.D.s. They would have networks of doctors they’ve worked with over the years and I can’t help but think that it was Dr. Howard Dean who came up with the 2 who are in the ad (whose licenses should be taken). That would have to constitute some level of ‘coordination’ between the 527, the national party, and the campaign.

“It was stupid because running ads doesn’t interfere with getting work done in Washington.”

It was about being true to his word on “suspending his campaign” until resolution on the bailout gridlock. Not running ads has to be included in that. Otherwise, “They’d” jump right on him for being hypocritical (like BHO is - oh, but HE never gets called on it).

I remember ACORN getting busted with voter fraud in NM in 1992.

Ever since then, whenever I hear about voter fraud, I look into the story and ACORN is involved.

Communist organization being funded by the tax payer. It is sick.

Also, remember the federal prosecutors that were fired by Pres. Bush that caused such a scandal? They were directed to look into and prosecute voter fraud and did not.

ACORN and Obama and Dodd have their fingers in all of this.
