Why do they insist on putting her on shows like this?

At least O’Reilly would give her a fair shake.

I don't understand the excitement over McCain's actions. From what I understand, he's not opposing a bailout, he's opposing a bailout with any strings attached.

He wants less regulation and no taxes. I understand that position when you are talking about private industry. Regulation can mean the government inserting itself where it doesn't belong and taxes are the government taking money that doesn't belong to it. But when you start with a trillion dollars (let's not kid ourselves about $700 billion) of TAXPAYER money, then the government regulation is the shareholders protecting their interests and the taxes are return on investment.

The difference between throwing money and investing money is whether or not you expect to get your money back. The House Republican plan that McCain has suddenly decided to champion still has the giving, but pretty much gives up on the getting back.

If the banks don't like the strings, they shouldn't expect the money. I didn't hear anything about McCain saying that.

yeah the interests of ACORN and barney frank. Government is what caused this mess in the first place so why should it benefit? It’s not like we will get anything from it.

....pompous blowhard Gibson....

&&
I have never liked that jerk, but, now, I truly despise him.

Two nights ago, I switched to the channel that he is on because I wanted to watch “Jeopardy”. Unfortunately, I was a few minutes early and his ugly mug appeared on the screen. But I continued to watch because Gibson was interviewing Bush 41 together with Bush’s cute little buddy Bill Clinton (I swear! Doesn’t Poppy realize how much his association with that swine diminishes his own status? Poor 41 thinks he can lift Clinton up, but Clinton only brings him down. /diatribe)

Anyway, I noticed that Gibson’s ugly face was organized in a totally different manner for this interview; he was sitting up straight, had no glasses on the end of his nose, and was not grimacing as if there was a bad smell in the room. Of course, he just glowed when he was addressing I-x42.

I am one such woman. Before Sarah, I was seriously considering writing in the vote for president.

It shows how desperate the MSM and the Dems are to destroy Palin. They understand what a significant role she has played in energizing the Rep base and attracting independents and Dem moderates. It is simply amazing that a candidate for VP has attracted so much media attention—an office John Nance Garner described as “not worth a bucket of warm piss.”

I watched a part of the Couric interview where she asked Gov Palin why she didn’t have a passport ...

Why is this so freakin' important to the governor's detractors? Why would it have made any difference whatever that she had taken a family vacation to France or Italy at some point in her life?? I'm still waiting for Hagel to explain this to me.

And yet, whether Obama has had an Indonesian passport is apparently of no interest at all!

Because it's playing with money it took from us.

I would like to see Palin get more professional handling the questions she doesn’t know answers for...no one knows everything...but the valley girl “OK?” “yeah” sarcarm sound in the voice has got to go.

I didn’t see the interview so all I’ve seen is the MSM out of context worst snips of her - unfortunately that’s what a lot of people will see. The rambling thing about Russia flyovers in Alaska...was just bad. It struck me that Condi wouldn’t sound like that - even if asked for info outside her expertise - no matter how hard Couric tried to play gotcha.

We don’t know what McCain really wants at this point, but you are correct...we know what he doesn’t want.

I am no huge fan of John McCain, but his actions so far are entirely responsible. He doesn’t want people just banding up into a big crowd and signing this marriage license all in a heated passion.

Especially if people like Dodd, Frank and Schumer are screaming for it, it cannot be good.

I’m all for that. Not only is that conservative, but sensible. I wish I could say that about some other things...

I have to agree that whatever McCain wants, or whatever can be “blamed” on McCain, it’s a good thing that this isn’t being rushed through. President Bush pulled something out of his pocket and the Dems started going, “Yeah, yeah, yeah! Let’s sign that into law!” and I immediately became worried.

Good thing Barney Frank isn’t the adult there. He makes me want to puke, just the sound of his voice.
