McCain is no worse than what Bush was in 2000.

“The overwhelming majority of interviews for today’s report were completed before last night’s Presidential debate.

So what

Debate or no debate Obama shouldn't be within 20% of McCain

The die was cast when the GOP allowed this loser at the top of the ticket. He’s too old, too DC, and too Liberal.

I am not disheartened as the election is over and that is why all the doom and gloom and hanging on every negative poll is irritating. We haven’t lost until we lose. I do think Obama and his thugs will destroy freedom as freedom can’t be tolerated in a Marxist society. That is why I think we need to be positive not cocky and fight to win as if it meant our way of life. Talk to people, volunteer, whatever it takes.

In aggregate, Gore had only 3 pt lead, and that was a convention bump. Never any leads in October.

I love the smell of whine in the morning. Seriously, win the polls are up, freepers are all on board slappin' high fives, as if they made it happen. When the polls are down, everyone is a Monday morning QB or ready to abandon McCain and vote Libertarian.

Of course, if another poll comes out today showing a closer result, folks will calm down again.

People, Tthis kind of behavior is really unhealthy. If you want to actually do something, go down to your local Rep. HQ and volunteer in their GOTV efforts.

Wasn’t Bush down 6 to Kerry in October ‘04?

No.

Exactly. You get all these drama queens running around crying about the sky falling.

Excellent suggestion. Thanks for making sense. ;-)

Drama queens abound here at FR, they need to drink a nice hot cup of STFU, calm down, and then think a bit.

In the past couple of weeks there has been a constant hammering in the MSM of how not voting for bambi is racist. This HAS to show up in the polls. Hell, if I got a call I might say I am undecided or voting for bambi too....well, actually I wouildn't but I know a lot of nail biting pubbies that would, and then vote for mac when it counts. This is NOT a normal election year, the bradley effect, I think, will be big and will be the cause of riots when Mac wins this thing easily....and he will.

Darn right! I get really irritated with conservatives who see everything on our end through rose colored glasses and automatically lampoon everything the enemy is doing instead of paying attention. This is not the 1984 or 1988 election. This isn’t even the 1992 election, but you’re getting warmer if you think it is. The left is treating this like the 1980 election. We cannot afford having the Democrats in control, but we cannot afford another ineffectual Republican running for the presidency either.

The trouble is, conservatives are ready to fight. But there's NO ONE in the Republican party leadership that we can rally behind. And there's NO ONE in the Republican party leadership that support our fight against the libs. The libs successfully nominated a libs, the Republican party nominated a half-lib.

The MSM won’t even be honest about him winning a debate.

Did he really win, though? Foreign relations and security were supposed to be McCain's strong suite and he should have hit a grand slam but he didn't.
He should have mopped the floor with Obama but he didn't.

Obama's presence dominated the stage and McCain appeared and behaved as the underdog.

In their next debate that will focus on domestic issues, unless McCain does a 180, Obama will own the election!!!

If conservatives are ready to fight, we can at least take comfort that they’ll be ready to fight after the election. If they fight then, the wind will be at their backs, barring unforseen events.

Barr is honorable. He was my congressman. The Governor of Georgia eliminated his district (Barnes), and the Bush Republicans totally put the screws to him. Barr believes the government is abusing the constitution with certain provisions in the the war on terror bill and other stuff as well. Sometimes, I think Barr is correct. Who was it that said if you choose security over freedom, you will have neither?

The comments on this thread are as doom and gloom as I’ve ever read. The repeated MSM pounding a loss in debate didn’t work in 2000, 2004 and won’t work in 2008. Palin still has her debate this Thursday. That will uptick any and all polls. In addition, the McCain camp will have an Oct surprise which will pound the point of Rev Wright/Weatherman Underground etc. 2 more debates are still to come for POTUS as well.

WE are paying for 8 years of Compassionate Conservatism

Eight years of Bush letting the democrats use him as a punching bag and not fighting back—The MSM Be damned It couldn’t be any worse than it is

NO prosecution of Sandy Berger

No investigation of forged National Guard documents

Allowing Clinton operatives to stay in power

Appointing democrats like Paulson

He is as big a patsy as his father

At this point I wish McCain had won the primary in 2000

Eight years of hoping he would get the message

And as far as history goes —He is TORCHED —Because the commies will be writing it
