SJReidhead over at the Pink Flamingo notes why Sarah Palin came off so incoherent in those CBS News interviews with Katie Colic - Palin’s responses where edited to make her appear to stumble:

Palin: Well, one is that America cannot be counted on to do this solely, to be the savior of every other nation, but we need friends and we need allies and we need this nation-building effort and we need to forge new alliances, and that is what a new election will provide opportunity to do.
And dolts like Kathleen Parker from NRO fell for the deception. Americans need to demand CBS offer the ENTIRE unedited interview on their website - now. We can then decide for ourselves what was important to hear from Sarah Palin.

One of my happiest days was the day I sold my CBS stock.
It would be helpful if you provided the real and edited quotes made by Palin. Otherwise it is not possible to know what CBS has done.

McCain calls Obama naive, and the same word applies to McCain’s view of the MSM. He keeps on throwing Sarah Palin to the liberals MSM wolves, as though something good might come out of it. This is very damaging incompetence in the McCain campaign.
McCain is only even in the electoral game becasue of Palin - he a) better start defending her against stuff like this and b) he better start using her (a lot) before they are so far behind even she can’t help anymore

I don't understand why McCain insists on sending Palin into these ambushes in the first place. The time is long past due to simply tell these Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms to go play in the street.

This is election year politics, and we know full well that the press is campaigning day and night for Obama and that other creep Biden. Sarah Palin will get in front of a live camera, no editing, during the VP debates. It’s up to her to take control of the situation.
Biden will be his usual gaffing, arrogant self in the debates. And the underdog most always wins the first debate and turns a lot of heads in their favor.
People will really notice and be surprised that Sarah is not who the MSM has said she was. This will be to our advantage.

When Katie asked Sarah about her “international experience,” she should have said she would use the same principles and instricts she has used as a governor. Biden has 30 years of international experience, all of it wrong headed.

As much as I love Sarah, I won't even watch when she is being interviewed. I can no longer tolerate the arrogant Olde Media's attempts to deceive.
They need to take the lesson that John Cena (Pro Wrestler) got when he had his own camera taping the interview. Predictably, CNN completely turned around what he said about steroids in the editing room. See this amazing video...

That being said, shes going to have to get used to handling a hostile liberal press. Like most decent people, she expects these interviewers to act decent. They don't. They hate us with a hot passion and they want us destroyed in this election.
I want to see Gov. Palin prepped with some practice interviews to deal with this brand of hostility. She can keep her naturalness, and her character we admire her for, but she needs to be more direct and show herself as a commander when the case calls for it. Guiliani is famous for handling most of what they do with humor. Laughing in the face of somebody like Katie Couric or Charles Gibson when they throw a spitball. This can also work.
Thank God that most of us, as decent hard working Americans don't have to develop skills to handle complete Donkeys like Katie, Charles, Keith Uber-head, and Chrissy Matthews.

Parker, a typical white person, believes what she sees on the telly, and suffers for it. Anyone thinking and trying to write about politics should know that the print and broadcast news people are just an extension of Obama’s campaign, what with Olbermann catching a colleague not bad-mouthing McCain and screaming about it into an inadvertently-open mike, and with Matthews’ “thrills and chills up and down my legs” from hearing Obama speak, and with The New York Times refusing to publish McCain’s commentary a week after it had printed Obama’s.
Sara Palin and Co. already knew this, going in to her various interviews, but they should have taken it to heart. No Republican or conservative is going to get fair treatment from Big Media; I’m disappointed that the McCainsters sent Palin into the Gibson pop quiz and into Couric’s chop shop so breezily.
That’s about the size of it...we’ve been had and we’ve been lied to.
