These results do not reflect the debate in any way.

They do reflect that McCain’s suspend the campaign gambit did not work. It may have backfired.

What’s more, McCain pulled all of his advertising for the past several days. Obama immediately bought up those spots! That may have hurt in more ways than can be quantified. Campaigns would not pay for TV advertising if it did not work!

There is still plenty of time ahead to right this ship.

McCain and the GOP has work to do. There are still lots of undecideds in this race. I figure a lot of Obama’s movement is people moving back to the undecided column.

The average guy I talk to blames the financial meltdown on: Deregulation, excessive CEO compensation and greed on Wall Street. The MSM’s indoctrination has been largely successful.

Not time to panic yet but the trend since McCain suspended his campaign is definitely in Obama’s direction whereas prior to that I was getting the sense that McCain was making inroads.

After hitting the road and talking to people I think that the debate probably benefited McCain slightly. It is all about what it comes down to in the end.

This is not good news. Not at all.

Have Americans lost their minds?

Yeah. If McCain pulls within the margin of error after all 3 debates, he will win the election.

I’m not paniced but McCain and the GOP needs to block the Democrat bill on the Bailout. They need to stand up for fiscal responsibility more now than at any other time.

The suspended campaign moved backfired. It gave odumbo free time to attack. That being said the polls will start drifting back to Mccain after the bracelet gaffe, missile defense flip flop and just regular normal campaigning

correct...but we know that fannie mae and freddie mac, oversight by Chris Dodd, Barnie Frank, Obama AND the black caucus pursuaded “White Guilt” Banks to give “Affirmative Action” loans to those who could not afford it or take care of it.

It is interesting getting out there and talking with the general public.

I remember after the GOP Convention, McCain gave what many labeled a “flat” speech, but it ended up resonating well with the independent voters. I think he was (rather successfully) trying to repeat that tone for the debate.

I want to change up the perspective here.

McCain is facing a huge task. This is the most toxic atmosphere since 1932, 1952 and 1968.

Thanks to a great summer and Sarah Palin. we are within striking distance.

“They do reflect that McCain’s suspend the campaign gambit did not work. It may have backfired”.

...I agree that stopping the ads will hurt but going to Washington to do what he was originally voted in as a senator to do was the right thing. If he didn’t his “Country First” slogan would’ve been destroyed by the MSM.

Relax...the polls have ALWAYS favored Democrats....Obama needs at least 55% going into the election. Check the state by state as well....if I was McCain I would be on Virginia, Florida, Ohio, and PA.
