U.S. fights fired Muslim scientist's lawsuit

PITTSBURGH - A federal judge does not have the jurisdiction to second-guess security clearance decisions and should throw out a lawsuit by a Muslim scientist who claims he wrongly lost his clearance — and his job — at a nuclear warship plant, U.S. Justice Department attorneys said in court documents.

Lawyers for the Department of Energy contend the lawsuit filed by Egyptian-born scientist Abdel Moniem Ali El-Ganayni is an effort to publicize the security review process, which could pose a threat to the U.S.

The American Civil Liberties Union helped El-Ganayni sue this year, saying he was wrongly fired for speaking against U.S. foreign policy and the alleged mistreatment of Muslims by the FBI. The scientist, a U.S. citizen for 20 years, lost his Energy Department security clearance and then was fired in May from Bettis Laboratory near Pittsburgh, where he had worked for more than 17 years.

I think this is still under the 300-word limit

“El-Ganayni, who has been active in the Pittsburgh Muslim community, has publicly criticized U.S. foreign policy, the war in Iraq and attempts by the FBI to recruit Muslim tipsters inside mosques.”

Tough call, but first we get rid of the guys who fly commercial jets into office buildings.

Then we get rid of their supporters, i.e. cheerleaders and financial backers.

Then we fight the ACLU when it helps them or as it helps them, I mean.

This guy works on nuclear propulsion systems. I”m sorry, but I don't want anyone who is an activist critical of my country working in a place where he has access to military secrets. His ‘civil liberties’ don't trump yours and mine. We have a right to go to bed at night confident that the technological basis of our national defense is being well guarded against possible sabotage or espionage.

Ah yes...
The ACLU, again...

These are a few of the past and present prominent officials and leaders of the American Civil Liberties Union.

1. Roger Baldwin, founder and guiding light of the ACLU for over 30 years, is now a member of the National Committee of the ACLU. Mr Roger Baldwin has a record of over 100 communist-front affiliations and citations (documented in detail, CONGRESSIONAL RECORD May 26, 1952). In an article written for Soviet Russia Today (September 1934), Roger Baldwin said: "When the power of the working class is once achieved, as it has been only in the Soviet Union, I am for maintaining it by any means whatsoever." "The class struggle is the central conflict of the world, all others are coincidental."

Entry of Roger Baldwin in the Harvard reunion book on the occasion of the 30th anniversary reunion of his class of 1905 (1935), "I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control of those who produced the wealth: communism is the goal."

2. Dr. Harry Ward, first chairman of the ACLU. Dr. Harry Ward has a record of over 200 Communist front affiliations and citations listed by the House Committee on UnAmerican Activities (HCUA). Dr. Harry Ward was chairman of one of the largest Communist fronts to flourish in this country, "The American League for Peace and Democracy," which was placed on the Attorney General of the United States list of subversive organizations on June 1, 1948. Dr. Ward is the author of "Soviet Democracy" and "Soviet Spirit," two pro-Communist books which clearly show Dr. Ward's love for the Soviet system of government. The California Senate Fact Finding Committee on Un-American Activities, in their 1948 report, page 246, said: "The Communist affiliation of Dr. Harry F. Ward is indicative of the Communist sympaties of the members and sponsors of the "Friends of the Soviet Union."

Bettis supposedly fired people in the lase 60’s and 70’s.

The word in the community which was not officially spoken by Bettis, I believe, was they were a security threat. This happened after scientists and engineers tried and failed to form a union.

Maybe it was just coincidence?

Funny how Libs can sue anyone and everyone while the rest of America isn’t allowed to sue their Secret Police called Social Services. (the SS). Anyone notice the pattern?

We need a constitutional amendment recognizing that Islam not so much a religion as it is a hostile ideology, incompatible with the liberties protected by the document. It’s absurd to protect the rights of those that consider such rights an affront to their god. We’ll repeal the amendment when Bibles are allowed in Saudi Arabia.

Any technical employees in these highly classified gov’t facilities that would join a union should lose their clearances. The Unions are little more than anti-american political advocates with a healthy dose of mob control.

The American Civil Liberties Union helped El-Ganayni sue this year

AFAIC that's enough grounds in itself to throw out the lawsuit. Anything or anybody who gets help from the Anti-Christian Lawyers Association is almost certain to be an enemy of the US, it's people, and the Constitution IMHO.

Now why would they be afraid of having the FBI find out what’s going on in their mosque. The FBI is more than welcome to come to my church and see anything and everything that is going on, that includes the finances, the services, the community programs, the study groups - absolutely everything. I’m willing to bet the same is true for churches and synagogues all over the country. We have nothing at all to hide and are very proud of what we do.

Yeah, right. As if someone in weapons development shouldn’t have to establish any sort of loyalty to the policies of the nation he is working to arm.

He can be critical of US policy but it is suspicious of a foreign born muslim to criticize the US foreign policies “against” the Islamic empire.

National Security must be considered.

Sounds like homosexual activists who “come out” in church and then use it to try to change church teachings on homosexual activity.

It is a theocratic system of rule. Legal courts, ruling power of the nation. And as a nation becomes increasingly Islamic, the tolerance for the kufir (non-muslims) approaches zero.

Out nation was founded upon religious freedoms. There can be no cultural exchange when one faith is coming here only to perform cultish missionary work (we are expressly forbidden from espousing our own faiths in the capital nation of the Islamic empire). The Left even resents Christians bringing Christianity back to Iraq; they say we are interfering with their religious sovereignty.

From up here in canuckistan, the same defensive tripe to defend such scum would be coast to coast headlines. Every damned lieberal, NDP idiot, and lieberal lighweight would be howling the blues.

Ship the scum back where he came from, and big deal if it is stereotypical. One in a thousand rattlesnakes are not venemous but who would be fool enough to not treat them all as poisonous if there is no way to tell the difference. Huh?

“Any technical employees in these highly classified gov’t facilities that would join a union should lose their clearances.”

Really!

Suppose you made less than the secretary who belonged to the steel workers union; you had spent 8 years getting advanced engineering degrees and could not leave because every employer you interview with knew they were not to offer you a position. Ever work for an employer who could make a job offer disappear? Ever see someone ask if they could leave the company they worked for?

Don't try to enslave smart people, they don't like it!

Too bad you don't find yourself in a similar situation! You deserve it!
