Lame.

Where is the condemnation of the Democrat Party who started this Fan/Fred mess?

Where are the quotes from hundreds of Democrats preventing reform of FF?

Where are the facts about Hussein's involvement. His relationship with Raines?

Where is the defense of Pres Bush and the Republicans trying to get the Dems to do something for 8 years?

So is Pence above this sort of thing too? Just like the President? Just like Republican Senators? Just like McCain and the RNC?

Who controlled the congress in 2003?

Chafee, Snowe, Collins, and a couple of others.

I doubt McCain will put blame on where it is due, a large part of which went into effect during the Clinton administration, and the Clintons are McCains “friends”.

If the line between the liberal and the conservative is so blurred by compromise, then neither stands for anything, then anything goes. And there goes the country.

The bailout is clearly anti-Constitution, and clearly Socialistic, imo.

Well I'm of a slightly different point of view on this.
It sucks that we are in this position, but we are where we are.
And importantly, the financial markets are ruined because of government intrusion. These bad loans exist because our government forced the institutions into giving them, bought them up, and then hid them inside securities bundles and resold them to investors.

Our government created these bad mortgages, and the financial markets are now the victims. Our government has some obligation to right this wrong by removing the cancer that it created from the system.

Yes, that means taxpayers will pay the price. But it's a question of where do we go from here?
Republicans do not have be punished by the voters for doing what had to be done, as painful as it may be.
Republicans can run against the Democrat policies that got us here, and run on reforming them.
Republicans can call out the Democrats that made this happen by name, the blocked attempts at reform over the years.
Every Republican needs to educate himself on how we got here: social engineering, the Community Reinvestment Act, the corrupt relationship between Democrats and Freddie and Fannie.
Republicans can make this an issue, but they are going to have to go on offense against the Democrats and push back against their lies blaming "Republican deregulation" for the mess.

From this point, I do not believe there is a way to return to the restrictions outlined by the Constitution. If the bailout passes, and apparently it has, we have lost our Republic form of government.

September 28, 2008 is a black day for tahe American people.

We’ve seen worse violations of the Constitution, like FDR’s 12 years in office.

And the Roosevelt years vastly advanced the beginning of the end, the date of which was actually 1913.

Make no mistake. This charade was specifically designed to incorporate more power into the hands of fewer people.
And those people do not run for office.

Bush tried 12 times during his tenure, most notably in 2003, to reform Fannie and Freddie.

You might want to listen to this.

This is simply beyond belief. Obama is speaking now at a rally.

He says:

They wanted a blank check!

Joe Biden and I said NO WAY!

I said, we must have these 4 principles included, and now they are in the plan!

Now- we need a plan for workers, this one, that one, and the other other one...

Take on greed and corruption..

Implement rules and regs I’ve called for- it’s time to bring REFORM to Washington.

I e-mailed McCain and told him NOT to dare sign that piece of junk. He might need to hear that from the conservative base. Come on people let him hear you loud and clear. If he signs this and it brings a worse situation, the dems will hang the whole thing around his neck. You can bet on it.

We don’t want a bill, no matter how “clean” it is.

Any money comes out of taxpayer pockets and goes directly to the pigmen of Wall Street.

Sorry, that’s not right. In any form, for any reason.
