CHECK OUT THIS BS TRICK!!!---CONGRESS DOESN'T HAVE TO VOTE "YES" FOR IT TO BE 700 BILLION. THIS IS A KEY POINT FOLKS!!!

"12 (c) FAST TRACK CONSIDERATION.—
13 (1) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other 14 provision of this section, the Secretary may not exer15 cise any authority to make purchases under this Act 16 with regard to any amount in excess of 17 $350,000,000,000 previously obligated, as described 18 in this section if, within 10 calendar days after the 19 date on which Congress receives a report of the Sec20 retary described in subsection (a)(3), Congress en21 acts a joint resolution disapproving the plan of the 22 Secretary with respect to such additional amount."

Translation: As long as congress doesn't specifically schedule and have a vote (great Pelosi trick on so many issues) in 10 days after they go above the 350 billion, it just happens. No yes vote to do it needed, no accountability. Folks, this is a key point-NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR IT TO GO TO 700 Billion!

NO VOTE NEEDED TO GO TO 700 BILLION!!!

NO VOTE NEEDED TO GO TO 700 BILLION!!!

NO VOTE NEEDED TO GO TO 700 BILLION!!!

65% of proceeds into the housing trust fund???

And don't forget....that's NET, not gross. So if in the end we take a $7 billion loss, but there were individual sales that turned a little profit, ACORN gets to skim 20% off those profits, while as a whole we took a massive loss. This is theft. These are the INTOLERABLE ACTS that spawned the American Revolution. This is what it was all about right here, folks.

Should I post the whole thing?

It would take a lot of reformatting to get it looking right in HTML. I'm looking for a converter. I had one around here somewhere...

Yep. They're trying to push a fast one over the Reps. This bill deserves a NO vote from the GOP caucus!

I didn't have to read any farther than that to know we're in trouble.

Someone with more knowledge about congressional rules needs to look at page 55:

4 (6) COORDINATION WITH ACTION BY OTHER 5 HOUSE.

If, before the passage by one House of a 6 resolution of that House described in paragraph (2), 7 that House receives from the other House a resolu8 tion described in paragraph (2), then the following 9 procedures shall apply: 10 (A) The resolution of the other House shall 11 not be referred to a committee. 12 (B) With respect to a resolution described 13 in paragraph (2) of the House receiving the res14 olution— 15 (i) the procedure in that House shall 16 be the same as if no resolution had been 17 received from the other House; but 18 (ii) the vote on final passage shall be 19 on the resolution of the other House.

I could be wrong but are they saying if the senate passes this bill first, the House can't amend it and can only vote yes or no on what the senate did?

(9) TROUBLED ASSETS.—The term ‘‘troubled assets’’ means—
(A) residential or commercial mortgages
and any securities, obligations, or other
instruments that are based on or related to such
mortgages, that in each case was originated or
issued on or before March 14, 2008, the
purchase of which the Secretary determines
promotes financial market stability; and

I disagree with this. Bailing out mortgage based Credit Default Swaps provides no asset.

I just spoke to Thelma Drake’s office (r-VA). They told me they have not even received a draft yet, and the version CNN has put out may or may not be old. The brackets indicate items that are under discussion, and Thelma’s office was assured that the HTF language was being removed.

They were as surprised as we were.

Note: I did not speak to Thelma directly, but her office seems to be on top of it.

Another interesting thiing on page 77:

"11 SEC. 124. HOPE FOR HOMEOWNERS AMENDMENTS.

12 Section 257 of the National Housing Act (12 U.S.C. 13 1715z-23) is amended— 14 (1) in subsection (e)— 15 (A) in paragraph (1)(B), by inserting be16 fore ‘‘a ratio’’ the following: ‘‘, or thereafter is 17 likely to have, due to the terms of the mortgage 18 being reset,’’; 19 (B) in paragraph (2)(B), by inserting be20 fore the period at the end ‘‘(or such higher per21 centage as the Board determines, in the discre22 tion of the Board)’’; and 23 (C) in paragraph (4)— 24 (i) in the first sentence, by inserting 25 after ‘‘insured loan’’ the following: ‘‘and 1 any payments made under this para2 graph,’’; and 3 (ii) by inserting at the end the fol4 lowing ‘‘Such actions may include making 5 payments, which shall be accepted as pay6 ment in full of all indebtedness under the 7 eligible mortgage, to any holder of an ex8 isting subordinate mortgage in lieu of any 9 future appreciation payments authorized 10 under subparagraph (B).’’

Is this about renegotiating mortgage rates of existing mortgages? Did I just get screwed for paying a point to lock in 5% fixed rate when my asswipe neighbor went with no points adjustable rate? How the hell is this fair? I want his new rate and MY POINT BACK!
