In this letter sent this week to TV station managers from Obama campaign general counsel Bob Bauer, obtained by ABC News, the Obama campaign argues that a TV ad by the National Rifle Association should not air.
"Unlike federal candidates, independent political organizations do not have a 'right to command the use of broadcast facilities,'" Bauer writes. "Moreover, you have a duty 'to protect the public from false, misleading or deceptive advertising.'"
The Obama campaign takes issue with an ad called "Hunter," pointing out that claims in the ad were called "false" by Factcheck.org, and was given three Pinocchios by the Washington Post's "Factchecker."

I think people really need to discuss with their moderate and independent friends, and even open-minded liberal friends, exactly how much pressure Obama is using to silence critics. Between lecturing TV stations as to who does and does not have the right to be heard (wanna bet they have a different stance on the AFL-CIO?), and insisting that law enforcement prosecute anyone who “lies” about Obama in Missouri, we are seeing the most blatant attempt to censor critics I recall in American history.
Just imagine what these people would do with the full force of the Department of Justice behind them.

We live in a free society where you can exchange money for goods and services. I am unsure if Obama knows this but every commercial is at least somewhat deceptive, that is what marketing is all about.
You guys got that, News Media? I know that this is how you make your money, by advertising, but I’m the Obamessiah and I say you can’t make money this way.
Maybe this will cause the press to realize they’ve been hoodwinked by a fraud. It’s funny how it happens that way — when someone’s bread & butter livelihood is threatened, they start to see the truth they were so reluctant to see before.
