Thats the odd question some conservatives are asking after the first-term Alaskan governor has demonstrated in recent television interviews what I presumed everyone already knewshes not a Washington insider, doesnt have all the policy answers, talks kinda funny, and at this point, isnt fully prepared to be President of the United States of America.
This questioning of McCains pick by seasoned pundits like Kathleen Parker, who two weeks ago was praising McCains choice as inspired and now has called for Gov. Palin to step down from the ticket, is odd, because they should know better. They should know the number two spot has never been about who would be the second, third, or tenth best occupant of the Oval Office.
Just ask Senator Obama.
Or just listen to Senator Biden himself.
When we vote for a president we make a bet. We bet he will be sticking around for at least four years. We bet on his health and stamina. We bet he wont be killed. We bet he wont choke on his broccoli. And we bet the running mate will compliment his or her abilities.

Was this thread a mistake? :O)
The Palin pick IS a BIG mistake... awful...dreadful... etc. etc.
The more ridiculous stories like this the better, to setup for Thursday and make the MSM's expectations even lower than low.
No,
She was an excellent choice with masterful execution. The fact that the Left is still trashing her with the attempt to destroy is evidence of that. She annoys if not terrifies them with a power that no one else could have brought to the ticket.
Mccain was largely chosen by the Democrats I believe as a “safe” candidate, one likely to be a minimal threat, which remained until the convention. Governor Paulin turned the race upside down which drives them wild, interfering with their plans to coronate “the chosen one”, not to mention the fact that as far as I am concerned she is near infinitely more qualified than their presidential candidate.
I don’t think too many conservatives have been asking about Governor Palin. Yes, she was elected to office and the proper way to address a person elected to the top office in a state is “GOVERNOR ....”.
Governor Palin is absolutely the RIGHT choice for this time. She has a conservative record, has fought against unethical people taking from taxpayers, even some in her own party. After 2008, Governor Palin could be the next President and not only is qualified but comes from outside the Beltway so is better positioned than most.
Let's get one thing straight up front, previously unknown Kathleen Parker is a hard core, embittered Romneybot, who's been banging the drum against Governor Palin from the start. She wants Romney on the ticket, for whatever reason, and is perfectly willing to backstab the governor to get what she wants.
I can’t wait to break out the special bottle of champagne I bought for the Palin-Biden debate. I know I will be toasting Sarah from here to Anchorage after she wipes up the floor with that grinning empty-headed drunken leprechaun on Thursday!!!
Is Biden a one-man gaffe-an-hour machine?
Should Biden step down?
(If Biden were a Republican he would be long gone...)
I don't care how much seasoning you put on her, she still has the stench of fresh cow dung.
I have never seen such viciousness against one candidate. Problem is how much can she take before normal people have second thoughts.
Thanks for letting me know who the hell this Parker dame is.
She’s surely not related to Dorothy Parker, for she has no wit and less humor.
Who is this Kathleen Parker babe anyway? I’ve never heard of her before. Now she suddenly is the most quoted “conservative” pundit in the past week.
Oh goody ... can we get some from Calypso Louie?
As the Governor of Alaska, she has at least as much foreign experience as any other governor, including Bill Clinton, George Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan when they ran for president.
Nice editorial. I’ve seen the author on FoxNews.
just look at the blowhards on tv, look at the history of dodd, bamey and his ilk associated with the freddie/fannie mae debacle....
just look at the typical washington insider and YOU KNOW SHE WAS THE BEST CHOICE...
and may I say a great big THANKYOU to Sarah Palin, for putting up with this ship like no other....
GO GET'EM GIRL!
I heard one of the talking Dem-heads on tv last week saying how unprepared Palin is. The host pointed out exactly what you said and her response was that Bill Clinton had foreign policy experience because “at least he studied abroad”!
I almost fell out of my chair...suggesting that just because he “studied” (and didn’t complete by the way) at Oxford, drank beer, smoked dope, and “studied broads” and allegedly raped that somehow made him a foreign policy expert!! These folks are unbelievable!
Here's her bio. She is a Romney supporter that still has her panties in a bunch over the fact that Romney wasn't chosen for VP.
Now she suddenly is the most quoted conservative pundit in the past week.
Because she is feeding the media frenzy and they hope her negativity toward Palin will somehow place doubts in conservative's minds, split the party and translate into a victory for Obama.
So Palin is a little behind the curve as far as what goes on in Washington and foreign policy minutia? Well she’s only been governor for two years, and not one running for President. There’s no way anyone not deliberately running for president and who is not a Washington insider will know all that stuff. What she has is the correct conservative principles and the backbone to support them. Who here doubts that if she were president she’d keep the military strong and cut taxes and spending? The simple fact is all Democrats are enormously unqualified to hold office at any level much less president or vice-president.
The MSM will do their best to discredit her just as they did Reagan. She'll catch on in time. But even if she were perfect in her knowledge, at the risk of being perceived as sacrilegious... not even Jesus Christ Himself would satisfy them!
