Thanks for putting up the list. I saw that my Rep, Tom Cole from OK was one of the Repubs voting for it. I called his office to ask what the deal was. The lady said, that Rep. Cole believed that doing something was better than doing nothing and that it was the toughest vote he's ever had to made.

I responded, well when I go into the voting booth in November I will remember this and it may well be the toughest vote I have to make when I vote against him.

Go Scott Garrett. He’s my representative and probably the only good politicians in the state.

"Several FReepers today seem very confused about the difference between the House and Senate. Kind of scary. "

Yes...it's a little disconcerting, to say the least.

God bless America!!!

McCain/Palin 2008!!!

Are you sure this was the bill? The bill title at the page was,
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide earnings assistance and tax relief to members of the uniformed services, volunteer firefighters, and Peace Corps volunteers, and for other purposes.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
That, friends, is something else that absolutely has to stop!
The biggest giveaway of the last 80 years, and it's under "other purposes."

I think it's time to have single-purpose laws that the taxpayer can understand, look at and comment on BEFORE they vote.

And Congesscritters of both houses should be subject to impeachment and jail time if they vote on any law they have not read and understood.

I am beginning to wonder if we should have a test for joining the Free Republic.

Posters should know the difference between the house and the senate, not to mention who their congresscritter and Senators might be.

I can't vote for the rat, so I guess I just leave this race blank.

pelosi on Fox - blaming pubbies.

And Boehner is out there saying that Pelosi's nasty partisanship made GOP heads explode and cause the no vote.

There's a HUGE opportunity for the GOP to get out in front on this and exploit the situation. The fact that Pelosi is on Fox *now* leads me to believe that they're on the cusp of losing that opportunity.

"I’m liking Eric Cantor!!! He was calling Pelosi out, and standing strong. "

Yes and he was being true to conservatism!

I'm loving him myself! ;-)

Didn’t see Gregg’s name on either Yeah or Nay list. What gives? I’ve used up so much Pepto Bismol caused by listening to Nancy’s comments about Frank that I’m going to have to make a drugstore run. And now it is all the Pubbie’s fault because this was actually a Republican bill which the Dimwits were just trying to improve and now we’re not supporting it. Talk about spin and CYA!

Scary - even my 8 year old grandson knows about the parts of the government and an extremely basis knowledge of how they operate. But then his parents have spent time with his and he doesn’t go to public school.
