More Conservatives Calling for Palin's Ouster
WXYZ ^ | 9/30/08 | staff

WASHINGTON (AP) — Has Sarah Palin become a liability for John McCain? Since joining his ticket, the overnight political celebrity has seen the shine come off her poll standings and doubts surface among some conservatives once excited about her candidacy.

The Alaska governor still draws huge crowds and energizes McCain's drive for the White House. Yet a whirlwind month after he made her his running mate, Palin is starting to seem very, very vulnerable.

A stumbling interview with CBS's Katie Couric last week in which Palin equated her state's proximity to Russia with foreign policy experience may have been her defining moment so far. Now, attention is shifting to her debate Thursday with Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden.

So far, Palin's been a huge hit with conservative and Republican voters, and McCain's frequent campaign-trail companion; but also a candidate largely sheltered from reporters whose few interviews have prompted some Republicans to react defensively and at times with frustration.

(snip)

"She answers questions like a beauty queen," said Obama backer Dawna Attig, 45, of Barre, Vt. "She's an insult to hard-working, intelligent women."

(snip)

Former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough, now a host on MSNBC television, said Palin "just seems to be out of her league" on national issues. Rich Lowry, editor of the conservative National Review magazine, called her performance "dreadful" and warned that without improvement, "she risks damaging her political brand forevermore." And conservative columnist Kathleen Parker said Palin should drop out to save "McCain, her party and the country she loves."

‘insult to hard working women’

Yeah, right. A lot of women Palin’s age are Governors in the USA. PDS strikes again!

I’m glad that the MSM is setting up a let down. Palin will do really well against that dumb-and-even-dumber Biden.

Yep, the left and the MSM would be thrilled to see her go. Those on the right calling for her ouster must be nuts. Even if she were as bad as they say, dumping a VP nominee at this late date would make a gift of the election to Obama.

“She’s an insult to hard-working, intelligent women.”

So, in their mind, being a conservative means that you’re dumb? Do they really think that you have to be liberal to be intelligent? Wait.....yes they do!

I hope the few conservatives (if any) that actually are complaining about Palin will stop their nonsense and unify under the McCain-Palin ticket.

We have the threat of a socialist madman being elected POTUS, for crying out loud!!!!! Do they value their squabbling so much that they will let the Obamination become President, allowing him to advance the radical, socialist agenda?

Hmmmm More Conservatives Calling for Palins Ouster? ..did I miss the conservatives cited in the article that called for her ouster? I read it twice. They quoted a few people but the ones that were negative were Democrats and referencing Former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough doesn’t count because he hasn’t been conservative since...well who knows since when.

One thing that comes through in parts of Gov Palin’s interviews is the disdain she has for the media. I think that attitude contributes to the halfhearted answers she gives to the stupid questions. Should she end up in the WH with McCain there are some individuals if not networks that will have their access severely limited.

"Conservatives" who listen to the media aren't.

Anyone who is surprised at this is too stupid to have an opinion anyone should note. When was the last time a republican VP (nominee) didn't face a sustained, vicious attack from the press?

They dish out attacks in proportion to the effectiveness of the pick.

I believe Sarah has special qualities as well, but it sure seems like the McCain campaign has not let her do her thing. It’s like having a Ferrari but only taking it for a short, slow drive around the block every other Sunday. When are they going to totally unleash her? Maybe after the debate? I sure hope there’s some kind of “strategery” going on here.
