Last time I checked, Canada had zero Electoral College votes.

For that matter, if the rest of the world wants to vote in American elections, why shouldn’t Americans be able to vote in foreign elections as well?

Are they willing to give up their sons and daughters for US military duty plus the treasure to support the DOD budget?

“For that matter, if the rest of the world wants to vote in American elections, why shouldn’t Americans be able to vote in foreign elections as well?”

I think the presumption is America being the empire and everybody else being underneath, like states. So it would be an imperial election so to speak.

I used to read The Economist every single week for years. Then they started bashing Israel, and then America. Then I stopped cold. This reminds me why I should not miss it.

The Left would love to have the the UN & the World Court deciding our elections. The rationale is that what goes on in the US affects the whole world, so they need a say. Of course, that assumes that the rest of the world always has the right answer. The reason America is America and the much of the rest of the world is mired in the muck is evidence that we should use them as a reverse barometer.

Sadly I think you are right. After failing getting the UN as the World Government. They will turn their attention to getting countries representation in the US Federal Government.

Of course they would vote someone who forces a limited controlled lifestyle on the people of America, Hussein even said he thought Americans can't expect to live with a higher standard of living than others. It gives the warm fuzzies to all of the global subjects to think someone will make their dream come true, the defeat of America the great and make it America the socialist ordinary.

I am surprised at the Economist. It should know that the rest of the world is counting. How else would Obama have raised nearly half a billion dollars?

This poll is a joke and should be treated as such. Anybody want to have a little subversive fun?

I think possibly we should bypass such crap as adding our 2 bits to their final tally and go make a submission to their “add a comment” section.

But let’s have some fun with it by inbedding a piece of code, thereby making it obvious only to FReeps that the comment is from one of our own.

For example the code could be: “More Cow Bell”

Comment as you wish, rail against or play the part of an economist lemming, but have those three words in your comment line.

You score points for creativity.

No one ever seems to care who Americans prefer in international elections. Is it coming down to this? Is this the back up if Obama loses - well he would have won if a. Americans weren’t racist and b. the whole world could have voted. Why must we exclude all these voters??? Shame on America for wanting AMERICANS to elect the AMERICAN President./s

stopped reading it some time ago.
It has just become another mouth piece of the left.

As for the votes abroad, what a stupid article. It’s like getting big crowds in Germany for obama when they had a concert as well.

I’m from England and the people I know in England want McCain, the trouble is that the left loons have a big voice and control the media so the average persons view is never heard though the media

If the whole world could vote, we’d probably have a Latverian dictator running the show.

Global electoral college? "What if the whole world could vote?"

I guess we'd have to issue another Declaration of Independence and take up arms to fight another Revolutionary War to regain our sovereignty.

Or maybe we can avoid all that fuss by preemptively deporting the surrender-monkies and traitors now. Wouldn't that be nice.

If I were every undecided as to how to vote in a presidential election, I would ask myself "Who do the Europeans support? Who do our enemies wish to see elected?"
Then, I would vote for that candidate's opponent. Looking back, it would appear to be a fool-proof method.
