PBS Debate Moderator Writes 'Breakthrough' Book About 'Upstanding' Obama, Black Democrats

There's one good reason Gwen Ifill, the host of the PBS show Washington Week, is moderating the vice-presidential debate: she has a forthcoming book about Barack Obama (and other black Democrats) called The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.

Ifill presents Obama and the others as the idealistic successors of Martin Luther King: "This book is about a generation of people who took seriously the achievements that their parents fought for. They knew that Martin Luther King did what he did so they can do what they’re doing, and they decided to follow through."

It's nice to see a disinterested party moderating the debate of the vice-presidential candidates.

Yeah, she’s an “objective” journalist. Maybe they can get Howard Dean to do the next “debate”.

I don’t have internet at night, so am scrambling this morning to find info on who to fax/email/call to protest this.

Anyone got any names/numbers, I’d be appreciative.

How in hell do the same marxist shills keep popping up as “moderators” of these debates.

I repeat my question, with 300,000,000 people in America why is it that the same tired old retreads keep surfacing in Washington DC, hollywood, and the “entertainment industry.” to include television “news?”

This is outrageous, and Gwen Ifill was very critical of PALIN, when Sarah spoke at RNC, in MN.

This woman has a GLOWING BOOK PRAISING OBAMA coming out in Januray 09 right after the INAUGARATION...about hiS ‘NEW PATH’. HOW IN THE HE$$ DID SHE GET TO BE THE MODERATOR, IT’S ABSURD.

This is clearly a conflict of interest as Miss Moderater stands to profit substantially if Obama is elected President. It’s just another example of the left playing dirty. Full discloser was never made and that in itself is a big problem. Finding this out in the 11th hour before the debate is appalling. Ifill needs to be replaced immediately if for no other reason than to at least give the appearance of fairness.

A so-called unbiased journalist would never put themselves in such a position of giving the appearance of possibly aiding and abeting one candidate over another when the end game will result in her getting millions of dollars if Obama gets elected (when her book comes out on inaugaration day).

Ifill has complete control over the topics and questions and don’t think there aren’t plenty of people that believe that Biden already has the questions - just because of the unfair appearance and this last minute revalation. Replace her now!

PBS is another example of wasting my tax money. I am changing withholding to 12 dependents. They can come collect it.

She needs to step down.

Concealing this obvious bias is beneath contempt.

This debate is in St. Louis, MO, where Obama has had his truth squad the past week trying to suppress free speech, by threatening and intimidating radio, tv stations and other media with lawsuits if they air negative ads about him....Gov Blunt was on FoxNews yesterday about this.

Now on Gwen Ifill, she is not the right person to be moderator for this debate...and whatever REPUBLICAN allowed this did it for fear of being labeled a RACIST. I am appalled, because this is Sarah Palin’s first debate, and they want to INTIMIDATE HER TO CAUSE HER TO FAIL, WE MUST PRAY FOR PALIN, ALL OF US..

Personally I think this is pointless and hollow issue to pursue. Ifill moderated the Cheney-Edwards debate and was perfectly fine. She has earned a rep for being moderate which is why the McCain camp approved her in the first place. All this crying to the refs is going to hurt us with only 34 days to go.

Speaking of a biased press, 2 weeks ago, the Palin rape kit story was debunked by leftish Salon, as well as elsewhere.

But THIS MORNING, the Boston Globe CUTS and PASTES for its LEAD editorial:

http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/editorials/articles/2008/10/01/wasilla_made_rape_victims_pay/

Why is it OUR JOB to look things up for the journalists? I’m computer-challenged and can’t even post an article without 3 tries.

No, it's worse. They've timed it to come out ON INAUGARATION DAY, JANUARY 20th!

Here on Amazon

Ifill, alone, supposedly decides the questions secretly. Whatcha wanna bet that Biden hasn't been practicing his answers for weeks now?
