Eduardo Verastegui Talks about Obama, Saving Babies Outside L.A. Abortion Clinic

Los Angeles, October 1, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Saturday, September 27, the Mexican superstar of Latin America, Eduardo Verastegui, and several of his friends joined the 40 Days for Life prayer campaign outside Family Planning Associates, an abortion business at 601 S. Westmoreland Avenue. He went there for two reasons: to help mothers and their unborn children, and warn people about the number-one abortion celebrity, Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL).

Verastegui is cofounder of L.A.-based Metanoia Films and lead actor in the company's first feature film, Bella (http://www.amazon.com/Bella-Eduardo-Ver%C3%A1stegui/dp/B0014...), which premiered in American movie theaters last October.

Until November 2, citizens of 179 cities in 47 of the United States and the District of Columbia are participating in 40 Days for Life (http://www.40daysforlife.com), peacefully praying outside abortion locations to end the holocaust. In the Canadian cities of Ottawa and Halifax, pro-lifers are publicly praying as well.

Armed with a rosary, Miraculous Medals and DVD copies of his latest production, Dura Realidad (Hard Truth), Verastegui and his friends approached seven women as they stood in line to enter the aforementioned abortion office.

John Anthony Hernandez, coordinator of 40 Days for Life Los Angeles, witnessed Verastegui's talent and skill. He said, "The words just seemed to flow from Eduardo and his companions who showed them the pro-life film, Dura Realidad, and directed the mothers to the LAPS [Los Angeles Pregnancy Services] center for help. He also handed everyone a Miraculous Medal and told them the beautiful story behind the medal and God's great love for us."

Verastegui told the women that he did not judge them. He said he knew they were suffering and he cared about them, but they were not alone. Verastegui warned that abortion causes sterility, and breast and uterine cancers. He said, "Now you're making that decision, so let me just share with you what they don't share with you inside. For example, I was at an abortion clinic that in the last three years more than 12 women - young ladies - have died. They don't tell you that."

Verastegui explained, "I was counting all the women lined up for an abortion. It was all Latinas and African Americans. And I said all I want to do here is to share with you a video on the hard truth about what is going on inside [that place]. And ya know what? By the grace of God, four babies were saved this morning."

At http://www.DuraRealidad.com, Verastegui appeals to his people in Spanish. He inquires, "Did you know that minority children are being aborted at more than double rate of white children?" He tells why abortionists target Hispanics. Then, introducing the segment showing abortion victims, Verastegui says, "Perhaps you question whether it is necessary to show a video like this, and my answer is the same that they give in schools about showing movies of the Nazi holocaust … [Teachers] show them because the Nazi holocaust represents a terrible evil that words alone cannot describe." In conclusion, Verastegui discusses how Barack Obama's "inhuman" policies would endanger everyone if Obama is elected president.

CNA TV provided English subtitles and posted the video on YouTube.com, minus the victims segment. Soon Verastegui will release an English-language version of this video.

He said, "Most of the registered Latinos who are voting are voting for Obama. Why is that? He doesn't represent our values: respect for life, traditional marriage or even immigration reform.

"Americans and people around the world need to know about Obama," Verastegui continued. "If he is not going to defend the most innocent, then who is he going to defend? If someone is not willing to take a risk for the most innocent, which is babies, what can I expect from that person? He will not defend me. He will not defend you. That's what inspired me to put something together.

"I want people to know the truth about Obama," said Verastegui. "And I pray to God and I don't judge anyone, but there is objective truth on this issue: It is wrong and we need to make sure that everyone knows [abortion] is not a subjective thing. It's never okay to kill an innocent person."

As Americans say, Verastegui puts his money where his mouth is. His foundation Manto de Guadalupe builds homes for the poor in Latin America, and helps mothers in crisis there and in the U.S. Verastegui is alarmed that nine abortion centers exist along just one mile of L.A., so he will open a pregnancy resource center among them.

He said, "You wanna hear something really, really funny? Here's what happened at the end. All the nurses from the clinic - some were African Americans, some were Latinas - came outside." The next thing Eduardo Verastegui knew, eight nurses wanted someone to take pictures of them with him. Instead, he gave each nurse a Miraculous Medal and his DVD. They didn't want to watch his DVD, but promised to do so simply because he requested it. He told them, "I'm going to be here next Saturday and we'll take a picture next Saturday." Then the security guard confronted him, asking, "What are you doing here?" Verastegui countered, "What are you doing here, my friend?"

After our conversation, Verastegui left for Bella premiers in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama. Bella is also scheduled for release in Brazil, Hong Kong and Spain.

On Saturday, October 4, look for Eduardo Verastegui with the Los Angeles contingent of 40 Days for Life.

Sarah Palin nails the Obamacidal Maniac...

Thread by wagglebee.

............................

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- With debate moderators not asking any questions of the candidates on abortion, pro-life advocates have been hoping John McCain and Sarah Palin would criticize Barack Obama's pro-abortion record. In a national radio interview on Thursday, Palin did just that and called Obama's record "atrocious."

During an interview with nationally syndicated radio talk show host Laura Ingraham, Palin described Obama's view that abortions should be legal for any reason throughout pregnancy “absolutely atrocious."........

How much will it take until ordinary people cut through emotional reactive support and see this Obamunist for what he is?

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Another analysis from a nonpartisan group shows Barack Obama misrepresented his votes in the Illinois legislature against bills to provide medical care for newborns who survive failed abortions. The analysis says a pro-life group was right and that an Obama ad on the issue was misleading.

At issue are Obama's votes on the Born Alive Infants Protection Act bills in the Illinois legislature.

Obama voted against them because he claimed they would interfere with Roe v. Wade, even though members of Congress voted almost unanimously for the same bill on the federal level.......

This article by Bob Unruh redefines "despicable" We may remember the Obamacidal Maniac defined despicable in describing the poor woman who survived an abortion and lived to tell about it.

Thread by kindred with thanks to wagglebee for the ping. Our own lexicon does not yet have words strong enough to describe the leftist scum. To them, indoctrination of citizens into the propaganda of the far left is a duty of the government.

They are trying to shred our country and to a large degree are succeeding!

A federal court decision approving mandatory public school instruction for children as young as kindergarten in how to be homosexual is being allowed to stand, drawing a description of "despicable" from the parent who unsuccessfully challenged his school district's "gay" advocacy agenda.

The U.S. Supreme Court without comment has refused to intervene in a case prompted by the actions of officials at Estabrook Elementary school in Lexington, Mass., who not only were teaching homosexuality to young children, but specifically refused to allow Christian parents to opt their children out of the indoctrination........

Haleigh Poutre update...

The Massachusetts Department of Social Services, now with a new name and an old M.O. tried at the beginning to kill Haleigh, and almost did. Perhaps it was to harvest spare parts, and perhaps it was to make a stronger case against her assailant, nevertheless, they tried and almost succeeded.

Not to learn their lesson, stubbornly they cling to the child as if she were their very personal property, and doing so, exceed the bounds of reason. That is how entrenched is their dark resolve even in the brunt of public exposure. Without explanation, they even refuse her natural birth mom even a glimpse at Haleigh. What is going on? We are grateful the mom has a high profile attorney like Wendy Murphy to help her.

..........................................

You see Allison Avrett meeting her two regular children, aged 7 and 8, at the school bus stop. You see her walk them to a well-kept home with Halloween decorations out front. You see her watch one child coloring at the kitchen table, then pose for pictures, everybody acting like regular families do.

Now, Allison Avrett may, in fact, be a person so horrible as to deserve her fate: first losing her eldest child to the state, then being banished even from visiting that sick child in the hospital.

But if so, the State Department of Social Services, renamed the Department of Families and Children, has not revealed documents that say so. Nor has it given Avrett a reason for severing all relations between her and that child, well known as Haleigh Poutre, 14.

Pardon my cynicism. But here’s betting that if there is a reason, we’d know it.

Most of us know Haleigh’s wrenching tale. At age 4, the department took her - wrongly, as is now apparent - from Avrett, then placed her, wrongly, with an aunt who nearly beat her to death. Then the department, wrong again, went to court to remove Haleigh from life support, reneging after doctors reported she was breathing on her own.

Avrett has long maintained she was among the first, if not the first, to notice her child’s eyes following her about her hospital room. That was when the department still let Avrett visit Haleigh. But they stopped her visits more than two years ago. The department will not say why, citing Avrett’s pending suit arguing that Haleigh was wrongly taken in the first place.

Were there no pending suit, the department would still refuse to comment. This is how it operates: hiding behind court orders and child privacy claims when typically the point is protecting itself.

And nobody seems bothered, even in this outrageous case, when the department bungled to the point of Haleigh’s death, then has the gall to blacklist a mother without producing a shred of evidence.

Pardon my cynicism. But here’s betting none of this is about helping Haleigh. It’s about a longstanding department mindset that says, ‘we do what we want because we can, no accountability.’ It’s about what’s neater and less legally risky. Haleigh’s stepfather’s trial is pending. Plus Wendy Murphy, a relentless, media-savvy lawyer, represents Avrett. That surely worries department bureaucrats: What if Murphy doesn’t give up?

You ask Allison Avrett how she copes? “Day by day,” she says. “I have two other kids who need me. But yes, I would love to see Haleigh.” If she is eventually free for adoption, “I’d love to have her, me or someone from the family.”

Avrett is not perfect. She gave birth to Haleigh at 17. Her boyfriend took off. She struggled. For a while, she concedes, she was not a good mother. That was 10 years and two more children ago, more than half of Haleigh’s lifetime.

System keeps mom, daughter apart through hardest times

I apologize if I think this occurance is just a bit too convenient. The courts and her father have agreed that she must be put to death, but the doctors and facilities had refused to snuff her. So now, this, at a peculiar time...

This undated file photo released from family shows Eluana Englaro, who fell into a vegetative state following a car accident in 1992. Two years later, doctors called her condition irreversible. The condition of Englaro at the center of a right-to-die case has worsened after she suffered a massive hemorrhage, doctors said Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008. ROME (AP) — The condition of an Italian woman at the center of a right-to-die case worsened after she suffered a massive hemorrhage, doctors said Saturday.

Eluana Englaro has been in a vegetative state for 16 years and her father has led a protracted court battle to disconnect her feeding tube, insisting it was her wish.

This summer a Milan court granted his request, setting off a political storm in this overwhelmingly Roman Catholic country. Italy does not allow euthanasia, but patients have a right to refuse treatment.

Catholic and anti-euthanasia groups protested the ruling by leaving bottles of water in front of Milan's Duomo cathedral. Prosecutors appealed the decision and the father pledged not to disconnect the tube before Italy's high court weighed in.

Carlo Alberto Defanti, Englaro's doctor, told reporters gathered Saturday at a clinic in northern Italy that over the last two days Englaro had been bleeding from her uterus.

"It was a very abundant hemorrhage, which puts her life at risk," he said. "This afternoon it stopped. We can't make predications; if it doesn't restart she may recover."

Italian news reports said doctors had agreed not to give Englaro a blood transfusion.

Englaro was 20 years old when she fell into a vegetative state following a car accident in 1992. Two years later, doctors called her condition irreversible.

Her father, Beppino Englaro, has said she had visited a friend who was in a similar condition shortly before her accident and had expressed the will to refuse treatment if in the same situation.

The case has drawn comparisons here with that of Terry Schiavo, the American woman who was at the center of a right-to-die debate until her death in 2005. Schiavo's husband, who wanted her feeding tube removed against her parents' wishes, prevailed in a polarizing battle in the United States that reached Congress, President Bush and the Supreme Court.

Doctors feel our pain. But when the doctors killed Terri, I think she felt the pain more than they did...

When parents' religious or cultural values prevent children from receiving necessary medical treatment, their doctors might agonize so much that they begin suffering, as well - from headaches, nightmares, feelings of worthlessness and depression.

The condition is known as "moral distress," and it can be so severe that it degrades patient care, Micah Hester, a medical ethics expert and author of several books, told an audience of 130 medical providers Saturday.............

The Obamacidal Maniac is much better at knowing when our right to live ends.

Thread by wagglebee.

....................................

The question of when our rights begin has always brought us back to the fundamental question of when life begins. This is because we operate under the assumption that since "all men are created equal," if you are a person, you have rights.

Even Justice Blackmun, author of the Roe v. Wade decision, which created a woman's "constitutional right" to an abortion, recognized that this was the essential question: Is the child in the womb a person? He and the other justices who voted with him in Roe ultimately decided that the fetus was not a person, while still recognizing the "vigorous opposing views, even among physicians." But he wrote, "[i]f this suggestion of personhood is established, [Roe's] case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the [Fourteenth] Amendment." .........

October 10, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Excitement continues to rise among pro-lifers across North America -- and distress among Planned Parenthood advocates -- as the number of rescued babies rises to a total of 114 throughout the 170 communities participating in the 40 Days for Life.

David Bereit, national campaign director for the 40 DFL, writes that peaceful protesters with California's San Fernando Valley chapter of the 40 DFL had some "very encouraging news" to relate. An absent abortionist, unusually low numbers of scheduled abortions, and 40 DFL pilgrims from far and wide were mere preliminaries to the day's excitement, during which at least one woman "changed [her] mind" and left the abortuary smiling............

Because many of the others who frequent the Terri Dailies are interested in knowing about trolls on the thread.
