'An American Carol'
David Zucker wants you to know that not everyone in Hollywood is a raging liberal. The co-creator of such off-the-wall comedies as Airplane! and the Naked Gun trilogy converted to the Republican Party in 2004, contributing anti-Democrat ads to the conservative cause.
Zucker takes his onscreen politics a step farther with An American Carol (PG-13), an update of Charles Dickens' Christmas classic with Ebenezer Scrooge replaced by a Michael Moore-style filmmaker. Kevin Farley plays Michael Malone, whose latest liberal crusade involves abolishing the Fourth of July.
Malone is visited by three patriotic ghosts who attempt to change his American perspective. Along the way he meets history book heroes George Washington (Jon Voight) and Gen. George Patton (Kelsey Grammer, above left), in addition to Middle Eastern terrorists and past villains including World War II's Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

Opening night is the same night as the VP debtes?
The MSM will trash it as a failure if it doesn’t sell out tonight.
I will see it this weekend.

Unsurprisingly, this movie is not being shown in San Francisco yet. Will have to venture off into the suburbs to see this one on Sunday.

Absolutely! We must all troop to the theaters in huge numbers to make sure this flick lands in the top tier this weekend and stays there awhile!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’ make it a blockbuster!!!
When I saw the trailer on TV I knew it was a “go.” The Michael Moore look-a-like is too funny.
David Zucker, who changed to “R” in 2004, must not be confused with Jeffrey Zucker, the ultra left lib.

Bill Maher is also dropping a big steaming pile of cinema on the same day. At least it appears we'll leave the theater laughing.

Yeah, I just figured that out by visiting my local theater sites. My bad.
They’re putting it in the “stadium” theater in Springfield, Missouri. Must be expecting big crowds.

I'll be going to see this movie over the weekend. I would love to see it make a hundred tons of large bills, just to stick it in the eye of the left.
Finally, somone is going to do to Michael Moore what should have been done months after his leftist drivel first hit the nations screens.
Folks, can we agree to get this FReepathon over with as soon as possible? Click below to help out.

My guess is that Maher’s picture will tank, while American Carol puts ten times the viewers in their seats. I would love to see this.

They need to give this two weeks in the theater and then go immediately to pay-per-view and DVD.

Thanks for the link. The clip is 10 mins of the movie and it is pretty damn funny. Muslims and Hollywood are going to hate it!

Pretty good job on the uniform - just add collar brass and a few more medals and it would be right on, but then the actor would run afoul of 18 USC Sec 702.
Nice to see they worried about the details - but then Gen Patton IS worthy of the effort.

I thought the two movies were totaly unrelated until I saw the release date of Maher’s movie was moved from Oct 1 to the 3rd. Then at the Internet Movie Database page for American Carol the sidebar ad was for Maher’s movie. It’s changed now but I don’t think either was a random happening.

Those sorts of games are played to enhance attendance, or build interest. I guess I can accept that. I just hope that the public can display that they have enough common sense not to go see the filth Maher will be shoveling this weekend.

The Maher movie will flop. The preview I saw was awful. An anti-religion film that even an atheist wouldn’t laugh at.
The premise seems to be “let’s laugh at how dumb Christians are.”
To: La Enchiladita
I’ve seen a few of them too and I agree.
It’s supposed to be a takeoff on Dicken’s A Christmas Carole. They could touch on a lot of sound policy in this movie. Wouldn’t that be nice to see.

Well, don’t look in Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill. Neither of the Cinemark outlets out here are showing it. However, the CineFArts in Pleasant Hill IS showing Bill Maher’s crap sandwich on the “foolishness of religion”.

I googled for L.A. showtimes and it will be playing at The Bridge in Culver City/Westchester, Howard Hughes Center. They give show time as 12:01 a.m. tonight, to denote that it is opening tomorrow, so don’t know actual times yet.
