Posted on 10/02/2008 4:07:44 PM PDT by Amityschild
Just how much in donations from foreign countries is pouring into the Obama campaign coffers is a question one FEC auditor would like to have answered. The problem is that evidently, his bosses at the FEC are refusing to move on the charges which would almost certainly require them to ask the Justice Department and the FBI to look into the matter. This would, their reasoning goes, take on the appearance of a "criminal investigation" and would impact the coming election.
The anonymous investigator (who won't reveal his name for fear of retribution) says that "I can't get anyone to move. I believe we are looking at a hijacking of our political system that makes the Clinton and Gore fundraising scandals pale in comparison. And no one here wants to touch it."
The American Spectator's Washington Prowler writes:
The analyst, who declines to be identified for fear of retribution, says that on four different occasions in the past three months, he sought to open formal investigations into the Obama campaign's fundraising techniques, but those investigations have been discouraged. "Without formal approval, I can't get the resources I need, manpower, that kind of thing. This is a huge undertaking." And the analyst says that he believes that campaign finance violations have occurred.
The Obama campaign has already had to deal with several FEC complaints about fraudulent donors and illegal foreign contributions, and the FEC says it has no record that those complaints have been resolved or closed. As well, the Obama campaign has been cagey at times about the means by which it has made its historic fundraising hauls, which now total almost $500 million for the election cycle. The Hillary Clinton campaign raised questions about the huge amount of e-retail sales the Obama campaign was making for such things as t-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia, and how such sales were being tracked and used for fundraising purposes. While the profits of those items counted against the $2,300 personal donation limit, there have always been lingering questions about the e-retail system.
"The question has always been, if you buy a $25 t-shirt and you go back to that purchaser eight or nine times with email appeals for $200 or $500 donations, and you have people donating like that all the time, at what point does the campaign bother to check if the FEC limit has been exceeded?" says a former Clinton campaign fundraiser. "There are enough of us from the 1992 and 1996 and 2000 races around to know that many of these kinds of violations never get caught until after the election has been won or lost.
Obama was forced to return $33,500 to a pair of Palestinian brothers who bought T-Shirts on the campaign's website - a clear violation of FEC rules and the law. The campaign claims to have returned the money but the brothers deny they have received a refund. There have also been numerous questions about other donations that appear to come from the Middle East - not surprising given Obama's connections to Tony Rezko (whose Middle East connections are mindblowing), Nadhmi Auchi, and other wealthy Arabs who might see an Obama presidency in a favorable light.
Then there was the curious case of a supposedly home grown video that was produced by a PR firm in Los Angeles owned by a huge, left wing, French media conglomerate. The money for the film and for the PR firm evidently came from Europeans.
There is little doubt that foreigners are licking their chops at the prospect of an inexperienced, naive, weak American president who will subsume American interests and cater to the whims of the UN while deferring the big questions to the Europeans. This isn't even taking into account Obama's strange policy toward Israel (where he says one thing but all his advisors say exactly the opposite) and the belief among Muslims that because he grew up in Indonesia, he will not be as forceful in prosecuting the war on terror.
There are dozens of reasons foreigners are pulling for Obama to win. There is little doubt that money from overseas is pouring into the Obama campaign.
And it is a dead certainty that the FEC won't do a damn thing about it until after the election.
Hat Tip: Ed Lasky
HOWEVER, I have done some digging and have found that IN FACT the campaign did not return ANY of this money. They have reported credit card chargebacks (oh really?) and have PURGED the transactions that were donations from the Edwan brothers (Monir, Hosam & Osama) of Rafah, Gaza Strip from their database. I did keep a backup of the original transactions, but if you query the FEC site now, Monir results in 0, Hosam results in $891 (hey guys...still illegal) and Osama is just gone.
yes,but as president of the world,,its OK,they do love him so,all the things he will do for them,,geesh,,they should be allowed to vote worldwide, too.Seriously they investigate Pres. Bush every 2 minutes,,,surely they can investigate the few dozen or so potentially illegal doings of the big o
Funny, we expect 19 year-olds to walk point in Fallujah, but we let an investigator jeopardize the integrity of the election process the 19 year-old is fighting to defend over fear of losing his government job?

Makes sense. He campaigned overseas.
YES! I don't save links like many of you do but I read an article here or on Drudge about foreign countries sending cash over the telephone using credit cards!
All illegal and large amounts being transfered. I'm sure others here know more about that.
We are watching America be stolen. Bush will not tell the AG to direct the Justice Dept to do anything about it.
Well, yes, I suppose a credible accusation of criminal conspiracy might "impact" the election. As it ought to.
The fix is in, folks.
All of our enemies — foreign and domestic — are supporting Obama.
Pinging to potlatch’s #10.
In a word, "DUUUHHHH!!!"
Now if anybody will actually DO anything about it!!!
Yes. Powers ignore it I know not why.
it would be ridiculous for Mideast Husseins and Al Qaeda Husseins not to give money to a Hussein for American President.
Especially Barack who said Muslim call to prayer was the most beautiful thing he's ever neard.
No, really. It's nothing.
Yep, the wonders of the telephone!!
Lucy, I hope others recall this and can cite the source. I do a lot of reading on Drudge articles but the important ones are always posted here.
Be sure to watch the entire video!
Aug. 8 - A group of politically engaged Afro-Brazilians want to find an Obama of their own.
With two thousand stickers, uncountable pamphlets, posters and an email address, the group of Brazilian Obama supporters have managed to raise $1,800 for Obama's campaign.
Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
SOUNDBITE: Ivan Rodrigues, saying (Portuguese): "What is this Brazil I live in? A Brazil that recognizes the rich in a way and the poor in another, the blacks in a way, the Indians in another, a Brazil that judges bankers in a way, and that judges the citizens who work every day in another way. So I believe the Brazilian Obama will understand people's needs and listen to this cry which lies inside each one of us."
B. Hussein has trouble with most communication devices. Especially his own natural one.
Relying on teleprompters helps but not al the time.
We have many domestic enemies.
Bump for later,thats for sure!
Yes, and this is something that many of us -- perhaps especially President Bush -- have not realized.

Andy Martin asks FBI investigation into Obama’s clandestine cash

ANNOUNCEMENT OF CHICAGO NEWS CONFERENCE OCTOBER 2, 2008
ANDY MARTIN ASKS FBI, U. S. ATTORNEY AND ATTORNEY GENERAL TO INVESTIGATE OBAMA’S “CLANDESTINE CASH”
MARTIN SAYS OBAMA’S NEARLY QUARTER BILLION DOLLARS OF SECRET CONTRIBUTIONS SHOULD VIOLATE THE LAW AND MAY INDICATE A CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY TO EVADE CAMPAIGN LIMITS
WHO ARE “GOOD WILL, DOODAD PRO AND NY NANDO?”
MARTIN SAYS MCCAIN CAMPAIGN IS INEPT AND INEFFECTIVE
(CHICAGO)(October 2, 2008) Anti-Obama author and investigator Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference today, Thursday, October 2nd to announce that he has asked Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Chicago U. S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and the Chicago FBI to open a criminal investigation into Senator Barack Obama’s nearly quarter billion dollar hoard of clandestine campaign cash.
Martin was the first to disclose the extensive financial relationships between Obama and convicted Chicago wheeler-dealer Tony Rezko. (read Obama: The Man Behind the Mask pp. 94-98 [see below])
Martin will also issue mild criticism of the campaign of Senator John McCain, for “once again failing to deliver a focused campaign and meaningful challenge to Obama’s financial shenanigans.” McCain is releasing the names of all of his campaign donors.
“Like almost everyone, I was paying scant attention to the minutiae of Barack Obama’s fund raising operation. I saw the ‘Gaza Strip’ contribution stories but assumed they were a tiny portion of Obama’s overall operation.
“I was smacked in the face by recent reports that Obama has raised almost a quarter of a billion dollars, almost $250 million, of clandestine campaign cash whose origins Obama has never disclosed. This amount is unbelievable and appears to reflect clear criminal intent to evade federal campaign contribution limitations.
“How does Obama think he can hide a quarter of a billion dollars by labeling the origins as ‘petty cash?’ Where are the mainstream media? Bothering Sarah Palin?
“I have asked General Mukasey, the Chicago U. S. Attorney and the FBI to open an investigation into the identities and sources of this secret cash. If the cash hoard is legal, we have a right to know. If the cash is tainted or even criminal, we also have a right to know, before the election, not afterwards. The American People should not have a ‘pig in a poke’ to vote for on November 4th.
Recent media reports focused my attention on Obama’s secret cash hoard:
“While we are opening our own investigation, we obviously don’t have the unlimited resources of the FBI or U. S. Attorney’s office. The origins and legality of Obama’s secret $250 million dollars mandates a governmental investigation.
“Obama, who began his campaign by claiming he would uphold the highest ethical standards, has created the seemingly most corrupt campaign fund-raising operation since Watergate. What is Obama hiding? Why won’t he release the names of his contributors?
“If Obama has a scintilla of ethics and commitment to campaign transparence he should immediately release the names of all of his contributors. His relentless attempts to engage in secrecy-over his family history, his education and personal life-are once again apparent in Obama’s clandestine campaign cash whose origins he refuses to identify. Is the money coming from Islamic supporters? Kenya collaborators? African dictators? Middle East sources? The American people have a right to know where a quarter of a billion dollars is coming from. We aren’t talking chopped liver.
“Obama has received money from ‘names’ that are obvious fictions and represent a transparent attempt to criminally corrupt the campaign finance system. Who are ‘Good Will, Doodad Pro and NY Nando?’ There is overwhelming circumstantial evidence of a criminal conspiracy to violate federal campaign laws, certainly more than necessary to open a grand jury investigation. Obama has received an endorsement from Moammar Gadhafi. Is this who we want funding our campaigns? Is this the 2008 Democratic Party?
“I would be remiss if I did not mildly criticize Senator John McCain for his inept and ineffective campaign operation. Focusing attention on an opponent’s weaknesses or suspicious activities should be the role of McCain as a candidate. But, once again, in a misguided belief in his own apodictic qualifications, McCain refuses to tackle Obama and to take him on, mano a mano, over the origins of the clandestine cash.
“Why isn’t McCain screaming every day at every stop about Obama’s secret $250 million cash hoard? Why not? Senator McCain owes his supporters an explanation other than the mistaken belief McCain’s record is so well know he doesn’t have to confront Obama. McCain’s strategy is obviously faltering,” says Martin.
Martin will release copies of his DOJ/USA/FBI letters at his news conference.

Larry has a new approach
They don't care. They can get away with anything. When will it stop?
Ping a ling
Ping to #37
When will it stop? Blah! He has been doing this apparently for 4 years. Maybe more.
I found this transaction:
He took money from the man that put Saddam Hussein in power! Nadhmi Auchi.
So, since Nadhmi Auchi got us here in the first place, I doubt anything will happen to Obama. We may as well make it official and stop this hazing farce.
Don't give up and don't give in! We have got to stick together.
Is LoLo Soetoro Indonesian?
Thank you for the ping.
