Do you know anything about why Dick hates Colmes. He seems hard to hate. He annoys sure, but hate? He seems so innocuous to me. To each his own I guess. I am curious though what is behind that sort of disregard for another’s feelings.
I must disagree with you that Colmes is hard to hate. Colmes is smarmy, sanctimonious and rude. He consistently cuts guests off in the middle of statements, and like a child, insists on having the last word. The person with the microphone frames the debate and determines by virtue of that not only what questions are asked but more importantly what questions are not asked. He has every conceivable advantage, and is NOT entitled to the last word. Even Bill O'Reilly recognizes this and (mostly) shows his guests the courtesy of having the last word.
In addition to all that, Colmes is a liar who repeats talking points ad nauseum even when he has been shown that the statements are false. He was at his worst during the Clinton impeachment, and Hannity is too easy on him. Colmes' Blog remarks about Sarah Palin and her family betrayed him as a disgusting, tiny little man. His response, that he would not retract them -- and that he subsequently retracted them only when pressured by the network -- were revealing of his truly despicable character.
