Joe Biden was doing OK for a while last night . . . until he turned into Joe Biden. About 9:45 last night, Champ’s carriage turned into a pumpkin.
Joe Biden is a man of the people. Why, he does the same things just like you and I do. How do we know this? Because Joe Biden told us last night.
“I was recently at my local gas station.”
Recently? Is that how you describe your visits to the “local” gas station. Hey, Joe, did you notice on your most recent visit - they don’t sell leaded gasoline anymore.
You want more proof that Joe Biden is Joe Six-Pack?
“Walk into Home Depot with me where I spend a lot of time.”
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, if a man will lie to you about hanging out at Home Depot, he’ll lie to you about other things as well.
Home Depot? What was Sen. Biden picking up, chlorine for the pool? It surely wasn’t a hammer, or work gloves. When did the Home Depot start selling arugula?
Actually, I was hoping for more gaffes in St. Louis from Champ, which is his childhood nickname, don’t you know. Champ gives him the common touch. Guys named Champ hang out at Home Depot.
He’s from Scranton, in case you forgot. He’s from “a neighborhood just like you grew up in.” You know, the kind with local gas stations.
They obviously had the muzzle on Palin last night. I wish she’d have corrected him on things like the economic “fundamentals” (Barack says the same things), or hit on Barack’s massive contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Let’s just say, the undercard on Fox - Bill O’Reilly vs. Barney Frank - had more fireworks in five minutes than they had in 90.
But God, what a pompous windbag Joe Biden is. The man is a hack’s hack. He tried to restrain himself, but as the debate wore on, despite the endless fake smiles, the real Joe Biden began to leak out, the Joe Biden who refers to himself in the third person, as in, “No one has been a better friend to Israel than Joe Biden.”
After 36 years in the Senate, he’s against domestic abuse. Wow, he took on that powerful special interest, Big Wifebeating.
Oddly, the only one of his numerous recent gaffes to get mentioned was brought up by Obama hagiographer Gwen Ifill, who drew blood with his comment about “clean coal.”
To which he responded: “‘A comment made on a rope line was taken out of context.’
Oh yes, the old taken-out-of-context excuse. He ain’t Shoeless Joe, he’s Alibi Ike.
As it went on, he just turned into the Joe Biden we all know and laugh at.
Joe Biden says “20 million of you” are going to be taxed. Because people like him, as opposed to people like “you,” don’t have to worry about health insurance, just like they don’t have to worry about being attacked for averaging $369 a year in charitable contributions over the last decade on an income of between $210,000 and $321,000.
I know, the mainstream media will say he won. So what else is new? See you around the gas station, Champ.
Joe is as authentic as a pair of simulated leather shoes from China.
BTW, what's he doing at a gas station? I thought he took the train to and from work...
I love Carr, really know his stuff....I don’t always agree with him...but he is very knowledgeable....better than other radio talk show hosts in my opinion.
I saw Biden’s gestures like -”I am superior to this women.”
He scratched his neck appeared to stick up his nose, and; he seemed to be looking for approval.

1. Biden the Foreign policy guru said Darfor was in CHAD!!!
2. Biden said that 100 million families would be affected by Mccain's Medical plan. There are not 100 million families in the USA.
3. Biden said that he would be "right by Obama's side" with every decision. Does Obama need a nanny?

I was disappointed that Palin didn't ask him how man has caused global warming on the other planets — and was he discounting the cyclical climate changes that have occurred thoughout history —— even before man arrived to burn fossil fuels...

His sympathy moment about loosing his wife seemed very contrived and fake. Also, I thought the botox was going to crack his face at some point.
I loved how Palin stated how she liked this type of forum because the MSM can’t distort her words.

Climate change has occurred throughout geologic history. This current bunch can't ALL be man made.
My nine year old was watching with us and told me that his teeth were whiter than his shirt. She thought it was funny looking!
Joe being Joe:

You're either the only person watching who thought that or you're an incredibly good liar. Which one is it? Trash Blowhard Biden and his scumbag attitude and his hairplugs all you want, he deserves it. But that moment talking about his wife was real- I believe that with every ounce of being in my body. You shouldn't stoop so low as to take that away from him. It brought tears to the eyes of my Reagan Republican parents watching the debates in my house. They still would never vote for Obama/Biden, but it was definitely a touching moment.
I’ll add that the “sympathy” moment, as you call it, was the only segment of his all night that I identified with and thought was genuine. No matter how long it’s been, even if it’s been 35+ years, you never get over losing a wife and a child. Never. It wasn’t fake.
When a politician starts using personal loss as a campaign prop and then adds lies to embelish it, this makes his actions suspect. If you can get the video, watch the moment again. It seemed like acting. I don't doubt that it is a painful memory for him, but the moment in the debate seemed forced.
Maybe, I have seen too many actors preparing for “tear” roles. Earlier in the debate, I did think Sarah was fighting back tears. Especially, when she talked about Iraq and those (her son) serving there.
I dvr’d it. I’m even more sure now it wasn’t faked. Biden is a terrible actor in case you haven’t noticed. He speaks off the cuff too often and he’s not polished. He often says a very wrong thing at a a very wrong time. You can’t have it both ways. I believe that he’s pretty awful at controlling things and someone like Biden couldn’t fake something like this without it coming off as INCREDIBLY contrived. It didn’t. We were watching the CNN feed and the meters they had on the voters shot WAY up after that portion. They can tell BS from lies. It was easily his highest scoring couple sentences of the night. Easily.
