That’s ok. Palin took control, turned it to her advantage and got her time.

Ifill, it’s not nice to fool mother nature.

Sometimes we miss the forest for the trees. Ifill’s “fairness” should be judged primarily by the questions asked, not how she moderated the debate. What subjects were ommitted? What questions played to Biden’s expertise? To Palin’s? How were the questions posed in terms of language? Ifill’s liberal bias was clear to see if you look at a transcript of the debate.

She hid this from the Debate Comission and they failed to check up on her.

They tried to contact her today but she wouldn’t respond. They then posted that this was indeed a conflict of interest but due to the late timing ...

They are no better than China.

My post 45 proves she was unfair. She cut of Palin three times to help a drowning Biden. Once correcting him word by word. She also helped him with friendly questions when he needed or to silence Sarah.

Joe Biden answered to quickly too many times. He had the questions before. Guarantee it. Nothing is below these demon rats. Gwen was clearly and completely biased. Could take you through it step by step by step. Won’t matter. Her buddies on the left and right will cover for her. The media sticks together. They know their days are numbered.

If we say nothing it will be worse next time.

She needs to be fired so this never happens again.

Good point on the Secretary of State portion. This was essentially a softball lobbed to Biden to defend Obama who was proved wrong subsequent to his debate with McCain when Kissinger said that Obama had misreprented his position. This was an opening for Biden to bail Obama out.

“Ifill fair — Really???”

Never was it stated that I thought she was fair. Being that I didn’t watch it I was unable to judge.I was only asking for exactly what you wrote.

It would have been more useful up front.

I noticed, too, that Biden got a lot more speaking time than Palin did.

You are correct.

Sarah did very, very good so most people did not notice Ifill manipulating the debate in Bidens (her checkbooks) favor.

Watch it again or use my guide and just watch those few minutes. I only documented the worse. Several other times she helped Biden.

Another great catch.

I document in post 45 three times she actually cut off Palin way to early to help Biden. One time correcting his mistake in the middle of his sentence.

Other times asking Sarah or Biden a question so Sarah couldn’t respond to a Biden attack.

Fortunately for Ifill Sarah did great so many didn’t seem to notice how very very hard she tried to sell her new book by getting Obama elected.

She also axed, do you want to “defend” McCain’s healthcare plan? What’s to “defend”. Does Joe want to defend socialized medicine? She was a complete tool.

Pray for W, Palin/McCain and Our Troops

All good points, snowsislander, especially comparing to a judge situation. Nevertheless, she behaved, and there were no “appearances of impropriety” during the debate, at least not enough to complain about, IMHO. If MSM always behaved this way - I can live with that

On a larger scale, with media people voting overwhelmingly democratic, it is impractical to demand neutrality - useless fight. What is practical is to demand the truth-in-advertising, i.e. transparency and full disclosure. Same as when, for example, Dennis Prager interviews somebody and clearly states his own bias, no pretense, and then lets the interviewee to state his/her case. Brit Hume is an example of a known conservative that is very fair as interviewer as well. Tony Snow was excellent. Michael Medved gives opponents enough time, usually, to hang themselves on their own petard. Sean Hannity can be fair to high level people, but is impatient with no name Dems. Levin kicks opponents in the balls before they finish a sentence.

So, in all this, it was very good that Ifill was called on her biases, she did a good job being fairly objective. My objections are that it was not enough transparency and general public wasn't warned about her biases ahead of time.

I am sure you are right about Abortion. This could have only hurt Biden. Americans really hate politicians who support murdering babies who have the nerve to survive an abortion. I pray this message gets out better. Someone needs to brief McCain thoroughly on this so he can pin it on Obama.

Sarah would have pounced on this.

But there was tremendous evidence of partiality in her “moderation” (helping Biden).

Three times she cut off Palin when Biden was getting destroyed by Palin. Once helping Biden in the middle of a sentence.

She asked many questions to help a Biden in trouble or to cut of a Palin response. She didn’t ask about abortion.

Read the post on this thread. Ifill was selling a book last night just “moderating” to do so.

"To Biden: Isn't the Democrats' call to tax the wealthy an invitation to class warfare?"

No. The Democrats' call to tax the wealthy an invitation to is class warfare.

“Gwen was as good as she was ONLY because she had been called out for what she is: SHE IS AN OBAMA SHILL!”

Bingo, Ifill wasn't leaning out over the plate because we threw her that fastball high and tight to keep her honest.

Couldn’t agree more. The more you look the transcript, the clearer the liberal bias shines through.

As noted last night, Biden was selected by Ifill to begin the first statement AND the last statement AND was given extra rebuttal time.

Didn't Biden also get to go first answering Iffil's questions more times than Palin?
