Dallas Republicans enthusiastically greeted Sarah Palin on Friday, fresh off her debate with Joe Biden.
"It is good to be visiting here in Alaska's little sister state Texas," the Republican vice presidential candidate told more than 1,000 people at a fundraiser at the Fairmont hotel.
She spoke for about 20 minutes, discussing energy, government reform and the tough sledding for the McCain campaign, which trails Barack Obama in most polls, in the final few weeks before Election Day.
Its not just in Washington, D.C., its across the country, the hunger for reform, Ms. Palin said.
Introduced by Gov. Rick Perry, Ms. Palin told the crowd that the hometown of the Dallas Mavericks is ready to put a team of Mavericks in the White House."

Okay—this is all well and good. But 30 days before the election and she is in Texas???
Sarah, hon, a bit of advice. Never, ever refer to THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS as “little.” That comment just cost you more than a few votes.
must be a load ‘o money there,
I know, Hurrah for Texas, I’d prefer it if she made a trip up into Maine and NH....and MI...Rally to Palin!
She’s down here looking for her veep in 2012. God, I hope it’s not Rick Perry.
Well now, how many Texas’ can fit in the state of Alaska? I would hope Texans can take a friendly joke.
The comments to the article are some of the most hateful I have read. This is NOT the Dallas I lived in for more than 25 years.
Someone has size issues. :>)
Heck, I’m from Texas, and I find her statement kind of funny - only an Alaskan could say that and get away with it.
Fund raising. They originally planned for her to do a lot more fund raising, but scaled it back due to her popularity.
Surely they are in jest. No one can be that thin skinned except for OBAMA
Reminds me of someone else thin skinned: Obama. :)
I just love that the family travels with her and the kids are not being farmed off to babysitters.
Alaska: 1: 656,425 square miles:
Texas: 2: 268,601 square miles
Seems she was right.
Yeah. Elections cost money. Plus there actually are other races besides the Presidential election. So she may visit other states besides the same dozen or so "swing states" we hear about ad nauseam.
Texas skeeters eat Alaska moose for breakfast.
You better believe that cost the GOP votes. This late in the game she should have been in the undecided states rather than ruffling feathers in a state that was sewn up on day one.
Talking about Obama's skin? That's racist of you.
And hear I thought Texans were tough and had thick skins.
Don’t pi$$ off the Alaskans. If they get mad they’ll split Alaska in half and we’ll only be the third largest state!
Honestly, anybody that gets upset over the “little sister” comment has no sense of humor.
Sorry, I should have read your post before typing. Seriously,we could end up #4?
Color my beeber stuned. Alaska is hugh.
Oh I forgot, we can’t talk about his ears, his color and anything like that. Oops.
I don’t know for sure its just one of those weird things you remember from youth.
Like the ice blocks for the ice boxes were 50 lbs. I mean who needs to remember that?
A liberal site might have linked to the article.
Oh come on. What that and you or someone else will vote for Obama...surely your Republic is worth more!
“Okaythis is all well and good. But 30 days before the election and she is in Texas???”
“Sarah, hon, a bit of advice. Never, ever refer to THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS as little. That comment just cost you more than a few votes.”
Alaska is bigger than Texas. No harm in that comment...
I'm just waiting for CatOwner to come on here and tell us that this just shows that McCain is doing so badly that he's afraid of losing Texas.
She raised a million dollars in TX today. That is why she was in the Lone Star State.
yes--Alaska could be divided in half, and that would make Texas the 3rd largest state... haha!
Geez, and I thought you forgot the /s. :)
Egos,I’ll admit I got one.But it ain’t that big!
McCain lose Texas? Not a chance of that happening.
