Let’s say, for the sake of a discussion, that it turns out Obama doesn’t meet the qualifications to be president...what then? Who takes his place on the ticket? Does Biden become #1 and pick a new VP running mate or does the DNC get together and come up with a new candidate(s). The mind just boggles that the what ifs.

His party will probably run a quick miniconvention to pick a replacement candidate and then ask any of their electors to vote for that replacement. However, the electors have no responsibility to go with the party in that case. The last time this happened (1872), the electors for the party split their votes among four candidates.
Of course, if a candidate drops out this late in an election year, you can pretty much hand the election to the other major party candidate, so it’s all academic anyway

Wondering how this became an issue in June, or at this time for that matter.
When the clerk shouted “NEXT” to the lead guy in line at the “Office For Presidential Wannabes’” (remembering there was a whole bunch of them lined up at the OFPW)way back whenever, Obama should have been sent home to get the Birth Certificate before he could have his license to campaign.

This birth cert bru-ha-ha is going to come to naught. Obama spent 3 weeks in Hawaii getting this birth certificate. I imagine he had to eat bottles of Ibuprofen for sore jaws after he left, but I would bet my life he returned home with a “valid” birth cert.
Half this country worships him with Hitleresque insanity. Do you guys really think one of these nutters wouldn’t choke up with a birth certificate for the Alpha and the Omega?
The Obama Campaign would hold a live press conference, making sure that all major news media are there, and once on the air Obama steps down and hands the election to McCain.

I have no idea whether or not he has a valid certificate or how and when he got one. I am concerned that ignorant posts spread bad information .
We’ve been thru this many many times on FR—a draft order is not a signed order by a judge, and anyone who posts such nonsense should have his knuckles rapped.
