MICHIGAN CAMPAIGN TO OPPOSE OBAMA/BIDEN TICKET:

ANTI-OBAMA PAC UNVEILS  $500,000+ CAMPAIGN TO DEFEAT OBAMA/BIDEN TICKET IN THE GREAT LAKE STATE

October 6, 2008 –  The battle for Michigan’s 17 electoral votes in the presidential race is far from over, as an aggressive new effort to defeat the Obama/Biden campaign in the Great Lake State has been announced.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee (website: www.OurCountryDeservesBetter.com), a registered federal political action committee, is launching a $500,000+ effort against Obama’s Michigan campaign. The effort will combine a statewide television advertising campaign with a “Stop Obama” tour across the Upper and Lower Peninsulas that will include pro-McCain/Palin and anti-Obama/Biden rallies in 8 Michigan cities including: Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Alpena, Sault Ste. Marie, Marquette and Iron Mountain.

The Our Country Deserves Better PAC is launching efforts against the Obama/Biden campaign in support of the McCain/Palin campaign in several key swing states including: Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania.  But Michigan has become the committee’s #1-priority, in the wake of the McCain campaign’s decision to pull resources from the state.

 OBAMA DOESN'T STAND FOR CHANGE IN MICHIGAN

"Senator Obama doesn't represent change at all for Michigan. His high-tax, anti-business policies have already been implemented by the failed regime of Democrat Governor Jennifer Granholm, and we don’t need any more of that," said Howard Kaloogian, Chairman of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee.

"Is it any wonder that the person who advised the Obama/Biden ticket on how to sell the same failed liberal policies in their debate prep was none other than the Tax Queen herself, Gov. Granholm?   To think Obama and Biden had Granholm playing the role of Gov. Sarah Palin in their mock debates, when Palin is a popular governor who has overseen economic growth, tax cuts, and prosperity for the people of Alaska, while Gov. Granholm has presided over a exodus of people, businesses and jobs from the state of Michigan,” said Kaloogian.

"We've seen the disaster that Michigan’s Democrat Governor, Democrat Lieutenant Governor, two Democrat U.S. Senators, and corrupt Democrat Mayor of Detroit have brought to the state.  The tax-and-spend, anti-business policies have helped to create a one-state depression, which we cannot allow to be turned into a national depression under the same policies supported by Barack Obama,” Kaloogian said.

STRONG RESPONSE TO EFFORT TO “SAVE MICHIGAN” FROM OBAMA

“There has been an outpouring of support from people across the nation to save the campaign in Michigan, and Michigan’s citizens have stepped up to offer their own financial support for this effort,” said Kelly S. Eustis, e-Campaign Coordinator for the PAC.  “All of them, whether Republican, Democrat, or independent, understand what is at stake in Michigan and what we must do to stop the dangerous liberal policies of Barack Obama and his fellow liberals.”

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the effort in the past few days alone and will conduct a 24-hour web-a-thon on Tuesday, October 7^th to raise money for the campaign in Michigan online at: www.OurCountryDeservesBetter.com

COMMITTEE’S STRONG TIES TO MICHIGAN

Several of the key individuals involved in the Our Country Deserves Better Committee’s efforts against the Obama/Biden ticket have strong ties to Michigan.

Howard Kaloogian is a Michigan native, born in Detroit in 1959 who now works with Hillsdale College. He attended Michigan State University after having worked at the Chrysler Jefferson Avenue Final Assembly Plant in Detroit where Newports and Imperials were made.  He also worked at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant, while his brother worked at the Hamtramck Final Assembly Plant.  Kaloogian’s sister attended the University of Michigan, and Kaloogian’s father currently lives in Troy.

Joe Wierzbicki, the PAC’s Campaign Coordinator was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia, and grew up in Brighton, Michigan – attending Hornung Elementary and Maltby Middle schools.  His family spent weekend’s camping throughout the state and he still calls himself a proud Lions fan.  His sister graduated from Michigan State University.  Wierzbicki said it was vitally important to rally Michigan’s McCain/Palin supporters to redouble their efforts in the Great Lake State, especially in parts of the state where polls show Obama’s campaign being rejected.

“I grew up in Livingston County, and hope that we can add a campaign rally in Brighton or Howell, during our Michigan campaign swing, so that we can provide an outlet for activism among those who know that our country, and this state, can ill-afford the dangerous, ignorant, far-left policies of Barack Obama,” Wierzbicki said.

Additionally, Sal Russo, Chief Strategist to the Our Country Deserves Better Committee, sent his son to Hillsdale College.

NATIONAL “STOP OBAMA” TOUR: OCTOBER 15^th – 29th

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee will conduct a national “Stop Obama” tour from October 15^th – 29^th, crossing the nation with rallies in 35 cities in key swing states, such as Michigan.

Leading the effort will be Military Mom Deborah Johns, whose son has served 3 tours of duty in Iraq.  Johns appears in two of the anti-Obama ads being run by the Our Country Deserves Better Committee; Mark Williams, a radio talk show host and television news/politics analyst, and Llyod Marcus, a conservative black activist and singer who has penned the song “Sarah Smile” in honor of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin that he will be performing at the campaign rallies.

Individuals are asked to bring American flags and their resumes to the rallies.

The resumes will be collected at each rally stop, to underscore the point that so many Americans have far greater executive/managerial responsibilities than Barack Obama.  At the conclusion of the national tour, three individuals who submitted resumes will be selected by the committee and flown out at the committee’s expense to a Washington, D.C. national press conference where they will be made available for interviews with the national and international press corps.

I went to high school with this guy's brother, Harold. Harold is of very solid character and a very decent person. It was nice to see the family is taking steps to move us in the right direction.

Perhaps McCain's pulling out of Michigan does not mean that there is not hope. Let the PACs and others do the work.

He is welcome to do that. We will still deliver the message that needs to be heard.

Our Chairman, Howard Kaloogian, was one of the early Recall Gray Davis leaders. The state GOP establishment and party leaders were against the recall of the Democratic Governor. Kaloogian and Costa, with support from talk radio, went ahead anyways. The recall took a long, winding path, but it succeeded!

One of our other leaders is Marine Mom Deborah Johns, a national figure in the pro-troop movement. You can see some of her TV interviews and appearances at this link below. She doesn't exactly do what other people tell her to do, or suggest for her to do :-)

I know what you're speaking of regarding Kenya and Odinga, et. al We've discussed it, and may do something with this. Right now we at the Our Country Deserves Better Committee feel like we're putting all our fingers in holes in the dike, but we're pushing as many fronts as possible.

In addition to the Kenya front, we've also discussed doing something about Obama's involvement in the subprime mortgage fiasco, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines, and all that money he got for "going along" and letting the bubble get bigger and bigger til it popped.

There are many fronts to this battle, and an individual might find some are more in fitting with what they think should be done than others.

Each person has to best decide how they should do their part, and then act accordingly.

We've started placing our media buy in Nevada. Then Michigan and then Colorado follow.

Michigan is now a top priority for us in terms of dollars spent.

If we can get enough support we will then expand our advertising effort to these states: New Mexico, Missouri, Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Minnesota and Florida would then follow, etc...

I am in Michigan and have been watching for the last 1.5 hours local Channel 2 - Detroit’s mainstay channel.

The pro-McCain ads sponsored by the RNC are running two-to-one against the Hussein ads. Even some residual ads paid for by McCain still air.

Nice bluff by the McCain team - Hussein’s ads have slowed WAY down here since the bluff.
