Unfortunately Gov. Sarah Palin wasn’t exaggerating when she said on Saturday that Presidential hopeful Barack Obama was friendly “with terrorists” referring to William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist and former Weather Underground Operative. The question to ask today, however, is whether or not Ayer’s radical ideologies play a role in Obama’s revolutionary 2007 education legislation.

Exactly.

For insight into the Obama-Ayers relationship, one has to understand the goal of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. And it took Jon Voight on the Huckabee show last night to give us the point:

The goal of Barack Obama's collaboration with William Ayers in the CAC was to test for effective ways of radicalizing public school children, using the inner city Chicago schools as a test bed.

It was not about the three R's. Radicalizing schoolkids (especially black kids) was their R.

Please tell it how it is, conservative media.

You gots it. NBC just can’t say “educational reformer” enough, when refering to Ayers. I think “educational reform” was what led to the outbreak of home schooling.

Let’s make a real case for Obama and Ayers working together to radicalize education, rather than scare-mongering on the basis of a jargon-laden bit of legislation.

Nothing quoted from Obama’s bill has any import more radical or sinister than that represented by the erosion of thought among ‘educators’ through the mindless adoption of jargon, and by an attempt to get the government to pick a winner among ‘prevention programs’ aimed at decreasing things like bullying, drug-use, school drop-out and the like.

‘Positive Behavior Supports’ is one of the packaged ‘prevention programs’ that are all the rage among school psychologists and school administration types. If you Google the term you find websites devoted to pushing it, and that the ‘positive behavioral and social outcomes’ are nothing more sinister than staying in school, not beating up other kids, not acting up in class (or ‘acting out’ as the jargon calls it), and the like.

Let’s keep our eye on the ball and not get distracted.

"...CAC translated Mr. Ayers's radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with "external partners," which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn)..."

“educational reformer” and “community activist” are just different branches of the same root:

Leftwing agitators for institutional change, to infect all our institutions with leftism.

I’m so glad to see that someone else is distrubed by Ayers World Education Forum Sppech. Ayers gave it in honor of Hugo Chavez and in praise of Chavez’s educational “reforms”.

What is disturbing here is that Obama and Ayers worked together on education reform at the Annenberg Challenge. Clearly they were ideologically in sync. In the speech, Ayers emphasizes the important role that education plays in revolution, the evils of capitalism and the rest of the Marxist laundry list of social ills. Some highlights...

“This is my fourth visit to Venezuela, each time at the invitation of my comrade and friend Luis Bonilla, a brilliant educator and inspiring fighter for justice. Luis has taught me a great deal about the Bolivarian Revolution and about the profound educational reforms underway here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chavez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution, and I’ve come to appreciate Luis as a major asset in both the Venezuelan and the international struggle—I look forward to seeing how he and all of you continue to overcome the failings of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane.”

“We can’t have education without revolution. We have tried peace education for 1,900 years and it has failed. Let us try revolution and see what it will do now.”

“Capitalism promotes racism and militarism – turning people into consumers, not citizens.”

“Venezuelans have shown the world that with full participation, full inclusion, and popular empowerment, the failings of capitalist schooling can be resisted and overcome.Venezuela is a beacon to the world”

“Let those of us who are gathered here today read this poem as “The Teacher’s Obligation.” We, too, must move in and out of windows, we, too, must build a project of radical imagination and fundamental change. Venezuela is poised to offer the world a new model of education– a humanizing and revolutionary model whose twin missions are enlightenment and liberation.”

“Viva Mission Sucre!

Viva Presidente Chavez!

Viva La Revolucion Bolivariana!

Hasta La Victoria Siempre! “

Again, a link. http://billayers.wordpress.com/2006/11/07/world-education-forum/ All need to read and forward this speech to others.
