Intrade.com is a futures market in which people bet on the outcomes of various things such as the results of elections.

According to the current trading prices of the futures contracts, an estimate can be found of what traders are betting will be the outcome of 2008 Presidential Election.

If the traders are correct, John McCain would receive 200 Electoral Votes and Barack Obama would receive 338 Electoral Votes.

If the weighted probabilities of John McCain winning in the states are added up, and then divided by 538, and multiplied by 100, then John McCain should get 221.99 Electoral Votes.

270 Electoral Votes are needed to win the Presidency.

Opinions and commentary are welcome.

According to this, McCain needs to win all 5 "baby blue" states - Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia and hold all three "pink" states - Indiana, Missouri and North Carolina. That would be 274 - 264 McCain.

All other states are supposedly too out-of-reach to change.

I think that Virginia has to be the most disappointing state of all considering that it is the home to so many of the founding fathers...

I wonder how it would look if only LEGAL registered voters were counted. Oh well.

The good news is that now all the Yankees and Cali-freeks can move back to where they came from, cause the whole country is going to be like Newark and Detroit. and I don't have to listen to "how we used to do it back in (insert liberal sh#thole)." Cause they really know how to "run" things.

Libtards are so predictable..

Intrade is giving away money, buy McCain.

How about Obama openly campaigning for his communist cousin Odinga who signed a pact with Muslims to enact Sharia Law if elected and started riots when he lost. Obama campaigned for an openly Anti-American candidate in a foreign country in 2006.

I did buy. I should have waited longer but I figured that McCain had bottomed out at 40.4. Oh well, I stand to take some liberal money anyway.

Propaganda. The recent Florida polls are a joke. McCain is going to win Florida. Colorado is tied according to latest polls which who knows about any of them. He should carry VA. CO and hopefully NV. NC, IN and MO should be safe.

I think Sarah and Todd can get us WS, MN and possibly Iowa and maybe even MI.

I’m still wondering if the infamous Bradley Effect will factor into this at all. That’s where I think Sarah bringing up Hussein’s connection with Ayers, Dohrn, and so on will help the cause.

No one enjoys running up the score quite like I do, but I do live in one of those four states that Hussein closed his campaign office(s). So I'll be here at FR for the weekend nonsense. :)

Obama campaigned for an openly Anti-American candidate in a foreign country in 2006.

He did that again in Germany this year! (He campaigned for himself!)

Thanks for the ping. Is there a way for someone other than yourself to ping the list?

There’s a new contract to discuss, primarily tomorrow during and after the debate. This is the most nonpartisan way of determining a winner of the debate as far as I can see. The conservative columnists always claim the pubbie won, the libs always claim the demonrat won.

Politics - Presidential Debates
Which candidate will benefit more from the second Presidential Debate?

Barack Obama’s Intrade value will increase more than John McCain’s following the 2nd Pres. Debate M Trade
