San Francisco (AP) -- The words "bride" and "groom" will reappear on all marriage license applications issued in California starting next month, state health officials said.
In a notice posted on its Web site, the California Department of Public Health says it is making the change because many couples still wanted the option of identifying themselves in traditional terms.
When same-sex marriage became legal in the state on June 16, the health department issued new gender-neutral marriage forms with the words "Party A" and "Party B" where "bride" and "groom" used to be.

A damn political move by the leftist scum in charge.
Does this mean that, if a lesbian couple gets married, one of them has to be the man? And that with two men going in there, one of them has to swear to be the wife?
Sheesh..........I can’t keep up with this brave new politically correct world of ours.
There was a thread here a couple of days ago about a couple in California who wrote in “bride” and “groom” on their form, and had it returned on the grounds that that had invalidated it.
BINGO! They don’t want Prop 8 to pass. After Prop 8 loses, they will reinstate “Party A and Party B” — or junk that and go straight to “Species A and Species B” (credit to “itsthejourney”).
california - the land of reagan whom we love.
now the land of fruit and nuts.
no i mean the land of beyond pathetic political correctness.
there are good people in cali though. god bless their hearts.
No, they have an entry for “Bull Dyke” on the form.
THIS IS A SCAM to try to take advantage of some state’s liberal divorce laws. Where a “gay” couple can get “divorced” through deception and without appearance in other states. That way they can say the state recognized their “gay” marriage.
This is the next front in the leftist, democrat, liberal attack on marriage. Mark my words... This is no accident.
Department of Health reinstates Bride and Groom.
How about “thing one” and “thing two?”
And how about a line for a “thing three” and “thing four?” Why limit ‘marriage’ to two people?/s
...............one of them has to be the man?.............
I guess the state will just have to pay for an outstreched anal exam to determine the “pitcher” versus the “catcher”
Is this like the old prison joke where Bubba asked the new fish “do you want to be the husband or the wife”?
Better than the A and B that they had.
