Skip to comments.Video: Chris Shays Exposes Congress role in Financial Meltdown
Posted on 10/07/2008 6:26:35 AM PDT by PajamaTruthMafia
Yesterday during a meeting of the House Committee Oversight and Government Reform, Review of Lehman Brothers Finances, Panel 1, Congressman Christopher Shays blasted Congress for their role in the Financial meltdown and blasted Waxman and the Democrats for not investigating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the role they played in starting the Crisis. He then lists all the Republican attempts to reform FM/FM that were blocked by Democrats.
Skip ahead to 2:09 (near the end) to hear his remarks
Can anyone clip just Shays piece and post it on YouTube
I tried... I can’t seem to get the C-SPAN video to download using download helper...
Shays was on CSPIN last week and he laid out all the details about the dems refusing to accept any oversight of Fannie and Freddie.
Rather surprising coming from Shays but all the more important because he is usually leaning left.
Can someone post his comments to youtube. We need to get this out and I don’t know how to do it.
When did Crissy Shay’s grow a spine?
The gentleman sitting on Mr Shay’s left, was absolutely apoplectic at how he and the Republicans have been treated in this hearing. He speaks after Shays, mr Mica I believe.
This is good timing but I wonder how many Americans ever watch CSPAN. The dates and attempts by Republicans to control this needs to given in specific examples by McCain as well as how partisan the vote was. Alluding to it isn’t helpful as people are to lazy to research for the specifics.
Waxman looks just like a troll—poster boy for the corrupt Democrats.
OMG, They are trying to so hard to cover this up, and that chair was not only trying to keep the Republicans for being heard, he is just hideous to look at!
Waxman: Living proof that Indians did SCREW Buffalo’s!!
IMO, Shays is just trying to cover his own a** for supporting this bailout-His Constitutents must be pretty p*ss**@!
What are the dems scared of?
That folk may finally see who has their fingerprints all over this financial wreck in progress?
It's all Bush's and Wall St's fault, right, Henry?

Henry Waxman's decision not to allow members opening statements during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on the causes and effects of the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, on Capitol Hill in Washington, October 6, 2008. Chris Shays needs our support. We need to beat on Waxman for this.
Shays is a smart guy who has been trying to do the right thing for a long time. We can be part of his efforts by keeping the outrage directed at the Rats.
How about we also start using Hulu? Hulu is more likely to keep up vids that YouTube pulls.
He’s been trying to do the right thing on this for a very long time. May not agree with him on everything, but he needs our support on this.
This needs to be made into a commercial. Not just for McCain, but for our country.
