Some churches are more thorough than others. I agree that reading it oneself and studying the scriptures in classes with other believers is the best way to go. In my original post I was addressing the ambiguity in one sentence of the original article, and Babwa provided a great explanation in post 9.
When I was in my teens we also had scheme where you could earn yourself first a New Testament and then a Bible and it was working through a work book copying down verses from each chapter of the bible.
It was called the Young Sowers League not sure if it is still going.
I knew Baptist that had some form of calender linked to daily readings

Non-Republican have no idea of the enthusiasm generated by Sarah Palin. It’s safe to say there’s been no Pubbie since Reagan who has generated this kind of enthusiasm. Those who believe that if McCain loses, Palin will disappear better think again. A Palin-Jindal team four years from now will be very, very formidable.
