You Guys Are Nuts (Face it, McCain is Toast)

You Guys Are Nuts [Andy McCarthy]

We have a disaster here — which is what you should expect when you delegate a non-conservative to make the conservative (nay, the American) case. We can parse it eight ways to Sunday, but I think the commentary is missing the big picture.

Here's what Obama needed to do tonight: Convince the country that he was an utterly safe, conventional, centrist politician who may have leftward leanings but will do the right thing when the crunch comes.

Now, as the night went along, did you get the impression that Obama comes from the radical Left? Did you sense that he funded Leftist causes to the tune of tens of millions of dollars? Would you have guessed that he's pals with a guy who brags about bombing the Pentagon? Would you have guessed that he helped underwrite raging anti-Semites? Would you come away thinking, "Gee, he's proposing to transfer nearly a trillion dollars of wealth to third-world dictators through the UN"?

Nope. McCain didn't want to go there. So Obama comes off as just your average Center-Left politician. Gonna raise your taxes a little, gonna negotiate reasonably with America's enemies; gonna rely on our very talented federal courts to fight terrorists and solve most of America's problems; gonna legalize millions of hard-working illegal immigrants.

McCain? He comes off as Center-Right .. or maybe Center-Left ... but, either way, deeply respectful of Obama despite their policy quibbles.

Great. Memo to McCain Campaign: Someone is either a terrorist sympathizer or he isn't; someone is either disqualified as a terrorist sympathizer or he's qualified for public office. You helped portray Obama as a clealy qualified presidential candidate who would fight terrorists.

If that's what the public thinks, good luck trying to win this thing.

With due respect, I think tonight was a disaster for our side. I'm dumbfounded that no one else seems to think so. Obama did everything he needed to do, McCain did nothing he needed to do. What am I missing

Time after time McCain let hussein get away with the big lie of 'bush`s failed economy created the financial crisis/ clinton ran a surplus, etc'.

McCain blew telling the truth about the CRA,Fannie Mae, Frank and Dodd ad allowed the Big Lie to become the truth.

He blew the economic debate, the dominant issue.

One thing’s certain — if McCain loses without going down swinging he’ll be public enemy #1 in the GOP. ...at least in conservative circles. More so than even before.

Then stay home.

Never believe that just because you think you are a conservative means you are automatically made of stronger stuff than a liberal.

As you can see on FR these days, that is the far from the truth.

He missed a GIGANTIC opportunity tonight. When you are slipping in the race and on the defensive in a lot of states that you thought you had won you have to hold your opponent to account. He didn’t do that. He let BHO get off easy too many times on too many issues. And then he poked us in the face with his buy all the houses garbage. He hasn’t lost yet by any stretch of the imagination but tonight did not help his cause. Did it hurt it? I don’t know but with every passing day the pressure on John increases.

Nominating the “moderate” politician automatically gives credibility to the Democrats’ central premise - that government is the solution. Once you admit this, the Democrats have the better arguments. This is the fundamental flaw behind triangulation.

It is so clear that we should have nominated Fred Thompson.

That said, I now feel like a prisoner in a gulag who gets to vote for his warden.

Choice 2: He beats me more but feeds me more.

This was not the right forum. The people needed to be respected. But McCain must hit hard, immediately!

From his grandparents, parents, and Frank Marshall Davis, through Mansour, Ayers, Dohrn, Alice Palmer (communist who hand picked Obama to succede her in Congress), onward, through this....

...connecting the dots to show Barack Obama's long-standing, continuously developing, anti-American alliances...

Barack Obama & the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis

Simpson documents his research in his article, providing Web links. He provides a rough flow chart.

"CHANGE"

Further corroboration on Obama & The Cloward-Piven Strategy:

Obama, Voter Fraud & Mortgage Meltdown, by James H. Walsh, former federal prosecutor.

More on Obama's Marxist alliance with Radical Islamists:

Barack Obama campaigning with taxpayers' money for Raila Odinga, Marxist & pro-Islamist, despotic leader in Kenya

Barack Obama & Khalid Al-Mansour, old Black Panther friend of Ayers & Dohrn, who raised funds to get Obama into Harvard

And then there are... Herbert and Marion Sandler, the Pritzkers, and the "loose lips" of Charles Schumer and Harry Reid....

for a messiah, Obama had nothing to offer. Since economic insecurity has driven the electorate in his direction, his failure to put anything at all on the table negates his postion as the economic choice. Therefore, , the electorate is wise to make its choice on other factors, and that opens it wide open for MCCain.

McCain, is McCain, is McCain. From the McCain who brought us McCain/Feingold, and McCain/Kennedy, can we expect a leopard to change it’s spots. Unfortunately not.

But the CNN focus group seemed to give him a pretty good score, so maybe the independents see something we conservatives don’t.

As I’ve said before, I don’t want Obama to win, so I’ll vote for McCain. But do I think a McCain Presidency will be an easy thing to take, heck no, it’s going to be frsutrating most of the time.

But Thompson didn’t have “fire” in his belly, or so NRO, the punditry and some here told us. Funny. I don’t think Fred would be so relunctant to call Obama and the Libs out out and I’m damn sure he would have had no issue defending conservatism.

I don’t think Fred would have nominated Sarah for his VP though.

So it’s a mixed bag.

The debate itself was terrible. Brokaw picked questions that he, himself would ask on Meet the Press. They were not questions the average American wanted asked and answered. They were generic. That helps Obama. It doesn’t necessarily hurt McCain but doesn’t help him. It was a total wasted opportunity given what the format should have been. Brokaw sucked.

From AsiaTimesOnline, Feb 26, 2008

Barack Obama received at least some instruction in the Islamic faith of his father and went with him to the mosque, but the importance of this experience is vastly overstated by conservative commentators who seek to portray Obama as a Muslim of sorts. Radical anti-Americanism, rather than Islam, was the reigning faith in the Dunham household. ...

Barack Obama is a clever fellow who imbibed hatred of America with his mother's milk, but worked his way up the elite ladder of education and career. He shares the resentment of Muslims against the encroachment of American culture, although not their religion. He has the empathetic skill set of an anthropologist who lives with his subjects, learns their language, and elicits their hopes and fears while remaining at emotional distance. That is, he is the political equivalent of a sociopath. The difference is that he is practicing not on a primitive tribe but on the population of the United States.

There is nothing mysterious about Obama's methods. "A demagogue tries to sound as stupid as his audience so that they will think they are as clever as he is," wrote Karl Krauss. Americans are the world's biggest suckers, and laugh at this weakness in their popular culture. Listening to Obama speak, Sinclair Lewis' cynical tent-revivalist Elmer Gantry comes to mind, or, even better, Tyrone Power's portrayal of a carnival mentalist in the 1947 film noire Nightmare Alley. The latter is available for instant viewing at Netflix, and highly recommended as an antidote to having felt uplifted by an Obama speech. ..."
