Good news, but I think that just shows that the Ayers attacks were working, and it will be hard for McCain to talk about that much when he didn’t have the guts to bring it up at the debate. What a missed opportunity.

Keep pushing the Ayers connection. It’s working. And when people get bored with Ayers, bring back Wright. Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and the American people need to know what they’re getting.

In what way? The format didn’t lend itself to that kind of strategy. He was never asked a question about it, and to bring it up on his own would have sounded very aggressive and desperate...

Never fear ... the media will spin this to point out that Obama still has a “massive, insurmountable lead.”

The last time I looked, McCain doesn’t want to mount Obama ... he just wants to beat him.

Of course, with all the false votes that ACORN has created that we HAVEN’T caught ... well ... it’s going to be hard to get a clean vote this year.

This is why that female Senator, Democrat, from Missouri was on Fox TV this morning.

She was saying "these attacks are only hurting Senator McCain. Each time he does it, his position slips. In fact, I would say that not only is Obama in the lead, the more Senator McCain does this, Senator Obama's lead will increase!"

Her mouth uttered the words, but her eyes were LYING.

Reason being, if they were truly ebullient over McCain only hurting himself, they would publicly bait him to do more of it.

They would NOT have an Obama spokesperson go on TV to say that the more he does it the more he would hurt himself.

She is urging McCain to STOP IT, not because it is hurting McCAIN, but, because their polls and data show them, THAT IT IS HURTING OBAMA!!

Call the Whaaaaaambulance!!

I disagree- look at Palin’s debate. She talked about what SHE wanted to talk about and made the press like it. McCain’s campaign said that the last month of the campaign would be about Ayers-type stuff so the fact that it didn’t even warrant a mention in passing makes it look like he’s changed his mind once again.

not true. Yesterday wasn’t the moment it wouldn’t have worked well. Keep doing what what they’ve been doing. Sarah hits on Ayers, Wright (Hopefully odinga soon) and McCain hit on the Fannie debacle and push an economic policy

I don’t think so...it was the wrong format for it...the economy is what people fear most and McCain kept on saying that and when it comes down to voting, the strategy will be to make people think about who they’re handing reigns to in the midst of this economy...I think it’s a sound strategy and people will (hopefully) opt for the given quantity....

It’s the attacks.

I just hope nobody starts basking in the “win” now and assumes the road is easy. The only “trend” is the one the repubs make by monumental effort each day.

When a mad dog is cornered he will fight even more viciously. The mad dog is the little o. You have to just keep beating the mad dog until it is all over.

Plan the next line of attack and launch it. Give the dems no respite.

The format was different...a townhall debate is not the place to bring it up without a direct question...he needed to sound like he was “connecting with the average American.” That’s the whole idea behind this format...attacks like that would have hurt...look, if they’re working then we should keep at them the way we are...

Now Democrat Lannie Davis is on FOX saying the same thing.

McCain should not go negative, because it is "too late in the game" to have any effect, it is not the classic John McCain, he should talk only the "issues", blah blah blah.

The DEMOCRATS are sending their talking heads out to the talk shows to urge McCain to stop the Ayres attacks in order to help McCain!! How ludicrous. They want him to stop because it is damaging OBAMA!!

Later, Davis said that OBAMA "WINS ON THE ISSUES!!" Davis just said only three minutes early is that McCain needs to get "back on the ISSUES."

There’s time and place for everything. Yesterday’s debate was not a good place to bring about Ayers & Co. And then, there is job des. Palin has been very effective in everything she does. I for one, am so glad that she was picked and not one of McCain’s opponents in the primaries.

Funny thing has been happening since the convention, as consistently as clockwork:

When Sarah Palin is the strong, pit-bull face of the ticket, the polls go up.

When John McCain repeats the words “my friends” and becomes the face of the ticket, the polls go down.

So one can conclude with no difficulty:
Sarah Palin should be the face of the ticket.

It’s not complicated.

Grrr... it’s hard to analyze when they don’t post internals. Fiddling with hotline’s numbers to try and make them fit given the listed party ID, I get a slight McCain lead when using the party ID weightings from 2006 (R/D/I 35/38/27). But I had to guess on party internals to do that, so it’s not reliable.

No, RA, I think what is happening is that these pollsters are starting to scrub their models and are getting rid of those outrageously high Dem samples (one poll two days ago was a 9% Dem advantage. That's just silly).

But the internals of ALL the polls that we can get our hands on are grim for the Messiah: he's trailing Kerry among Catholics, among Jews by 15%, among suburbanites, has lost his big lead among women, and is actually running behind Kerry among blacks--and substantially behind Algore in blacks. I've said now for two weeks that either the internals are right, and Obama cannot win, or the "big" polls are right and the internals wrong.

If Dems are saying this "only hurts McCain," then obviously we have a winning strategy.

Look, I don't know if you've followed my little pings on the polls but the internals of these polls---if they are right---show an Obama loss. He's trailing Kerry among Jews by 15%, trailing where Kerry was among Catholics, trailing in suburban voters, trailing even among blacks (!!) by about 3-5% from Kerry, and about 10% down from Algore.

Obama simply cannot win if these numbers are right.

The polls the last few weeks showing O up by several points are all bogus. They over sample democrats by as much as 10 points and then show O up only by 4. One poll used 37 percent dems and only 27 percent republicans.

This means as we get closer to the election they will bring out the truth.

MCCAIN IS IN THE LEAD IN MOST POLLS.

Sarah Palin in pit-bull attack mode, is a hugh win-win:

1) She’s a great face for the ticket.
2) Every strength she shows against Obama, helps the public to be comfortable with the idea she could be President.

The difference with Kerry and Obama is, that Bush was able to get 61 million voters to come out and vote for him and defeat Kerry's 57 million. CAN McCain energize 61 MILLION voters to come out for him? I don't know. If 61 million come out and vote for him, it will be because of Palin and VOTING AGAINST THE MARXIST'S OBAMA. I do not believe, with all my heart, it will be BECAUSE they want to vote for John McCain. I know it will not be for me. It will be the vote for Sarah and vote against Obama. Too hell with John McCain. He stands for very, very, very, very, very, (repeat very a million times), very little that I do. He is an old liberal/socialist. I am a patriot/conservative/freedom loving American. Not a communist loving Bolshevik.

Obama is giving a blueprint of what it would be like to have him as President.

Let’s see: Investigate people who say things usually not true that he does not like. Have authoris arrested in Kenya that don’t share his opinion. Sell out the country through the bailout which he was partially responsible for. Silence anyone that speaks against him. Youth re-education centers. His obvious associates. A wife who hates America. Play the race card whenever possible. No actual birth certificate to prove he is actually an American.

Isn’t that enough to know that this man is not right for America. He may not even be an American.

Forget about the debates! Don’t buy the meme about how McCain “had to” do this and that, and he “didn’t do what he had to,” and that means “he failed.” Let the MSM spin that all they want.
Also, that so-called “town hall” debate (which Brokaw made a fiasco anyway) was not the place to go on the attack. There are four weeks left, and the trends are good, and the opportunities to expose the Man Child are numerous, and both McCain and Palin are showing they are willing to do so.
We can help! Spread the word about Ayers, Wright, Rezko, the whole sorry mess, to all friends and loved ones.

Obama’s economics are not a heckuva lot different from McCain’s. Both supported this bailout which IS socialism. Now the 900 bil that was apparently in the bill for backing all the commercial paper was put into force last night. 750 billion and 150 billion and 900 billion = Weimar. It is being reacted to and will be reacted to with a transition to Socailism. Bernanke apparently got his unlimited control of the nation’s money. He is the chancellor of America, now.

The left needs to show obama with momentum after the debate so I expect to see a poll today with him up 7 or 9. Of course they’ll over sample democrats, what else is new. My hope is that over the next 3 plus weeks Palin keeps attacking obama. She might actually win this thing for McCain. We all know McCain’s liabilities. I don’t think McCain is going to win...he’s to much of a wuss to overcome corrupt MSM, the moron vote and vote-fraud. That said, the good news is despite McCain doing all he can to lose (Al Gore in the cabinet???!) the MSM overtly doing all they can to get their guy elected, the financial panic, he’s only a few points down. In an electoral environment that couldn’t be worse for him, with the media out to defeat him and destroy Palin, Obama should be up by 10 or 15 points. Some dem stategist said a week or 3 ago, that if Obie wasn’t up by 5 the weekend before the election, he’s toast. So maybe McCain can pull it off. But I doubt it.
