"I spit on this before I put it in," she said to Romney, with a sweet smile."

You know I have seen this behavior before not in politics, but on the soccer field and it usually follows an intense game between heated rivals. As a show of sportsmanship, club and college soccer players are supposed to shake hands with the opposing team after a game in the spirit of good sportsmanship -- unfortunately many times those handshakes contain a little self directed saliva.

Wonder if McCaskill was just showing her inner soccer player?

We do that with radio earpieces all the time so they stick better. Common practice but not usually discussed . But then we keep our earpieces and don’t loan or borrow etc ......

Look, I am the LAST one to defend actions of liberals. That said, you should understand a thing about today’s small, “in-ear” earpieces. They usually do require some kind of lubrication (saliva works well) to get in the ear. What surprises me is that they would have different people using the same earpiece without a sterile wipe in between. She may have been giving him such a warning. I sure wouldn’t want any of her spit or ear jam in my head!
