“McCain has razor thin victory with 274 electoral votes”

That’s your optimistic prediction? Geez, you’re awful pessimistic for an optimist. If you’re wrong by one 5 electoral vote state, Obama wins. Over on the dem side, they’re predicting 350 electoral votes for Obama. See, that’s how you do optimism.

Hard to be optimistic when McCain abandons Michigan. That’s my state. I can’t help resenting that decision a little bit.

John Zogby said the race mirrors the 1980 election, when voters didn’t embrace Ronald Reagan over then-President Jimmy Carter until just days before the election.

Precisely, as my FRiend 8mm can attest, Reagan was LOSING the election through mid-October of 1980, but he ran away with it in the final stretch.

Obama is running Ads 3:1 in these states

i was in Reno, Nevada earlier this week and saw 8-10 Obama commercials on various channels in the early afternoon... i saw maybe 3 McCain commercials, and one was at 1:00 in the morning... (i leave the television on when i stay in a hotel room by myself)...

Obama is running Ads 3:1 in these states. Also, I can’t believe Fox news is running Obama ads??? How many Obama supporters watch Fox? Seems like a waste of $$ to me.

Running ads on CNN is just preaching to the choir. There's no new voters to be swayed there so that's the real waste of money. With Fox there are some people on the fence.

McCain was greatly outspent by others during the primary and it turned out that had little effect.

I really think that is what happened when Reagan won. The youth didn’t bother to vote, thinking it was in the bag for their guy. The polls/voter registration fraud/etc are more sophisticated, now, however. It is not an accident that all the ACORN fraud is in Battleground states with blue cities. We need a landslide to counteract the machine behind zerO.

I’ll take 271, I just want the absurd marxist dumbo defeated and I don’t care what skin shade he is, he is a would be marxist dictator. I want Ayers and Soros and the rest to administer to Obamalamadingdong whatever punishment they normally deal out to those who disappoint them. I’ll bet it’s a lot worse than sixty lashes with a wet noodle.

I was in college at the time, and I clearly remember seeing lots of students with "Regan Country" stickers ( I lived in CA at the time).

I realized right then, that Carter was in trouble. I don't remember the turnout of students at the time, though.

Since today is Yom Kipper, I'll own up and confess that I did vote for Carter. That was only my second time voting, and the last time I voted for a Democrat.

The night of the debate, I attended Novean and scripture.

When someone asked our priest if there was a real devil, he said, " Why yes, and he is debating John McCain right now."

We all laughed, but after scripture study was over and I chatted with my priest about the video of the kids in fatigues chanting, "Alpha Omega" I realized my priest was only half joking.

It was October 18, the day we did the Illinois bus tour from Eureka all the way down to the arch in St.Louis. Struggling against what we thought a massive current, we awoke from our exhaustion the next morning to find our world had changed. We had given no thought about losing, but fought as if our lives depended on it. I can’t speak for others but sure didn’t consider his losing as an option.

Still reflecting, lots of parallels to this moment in history...

The media hated us and constantly tried to show our rallies as drawing small crowds. One press jerk took to blowing into his mike a duck call as Governor Reagan approached, so it would sound like jeering. I rode once with them on the press plane and it was like being with wild animals, not people. They were different from us humans, a sub creature gaggle all to itself. If I were asked to paint my imagination of how a demon would appear, these would be my models.

In retrospect it looked grim, but our faith was repaid. Perhaps it was Divine Intervention striking us and we had faith that the little wart with ears, Jimmuh, would be stubbed out. Likewise, today, perhaps the unexpected miracle of Sarah Palin will have the same effect against those commie vile slimy Obamunists who threaten our America.

Gallup went back to “Registered Voters” and not “Likely Voters.

They do this because RV always favors the Democrats by about 3 points.

Gallup has always had a Democrat agenda. They also use their polls as a way to manipulate the public mindset.

With economic chaos the voters want an adult in charge. Not some young punk. Plus racist will not trust a black in charge of an economy in chaos. They want a boring old white dude

I think what we’re seeing is any time there is bad news, it’s bad for McCain since he represents the party in power.

If the economy calms down to a generic worry, as opposed to outright panic, McCain can easily win this thing.
