Palin To Join Fey On Saturday Night Live? NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2008(AP) It seems like the inevitable comedic summit of this fall's presidential campaign: the real Sarah Palin coming on "Saturday Night Live" to meet her look-alike impersonator, Tina Fey.
"All in good time," said a cagey Lorne Michaels, longtime executive producer of NBC's "Saturday Night Live," which has been rejuvenated this fall by Fey's three skits as the Republican vice presidential candidate.
Michaels said on Wednesday he wasn't actively seeking Palin, but that the McCain campaign called after the first skit, when Fey's Palin appeared with Amy Poehler's Hillary Clinton on the show's Sept. 13 season premiere, to say they enjoyed it.
"Saturday Night Live" has a long history of political walk-ons. Michaels prefers keeping this sort of news a surprise until it happens, an opinion reinforced when word leaked that Barack Obama would be on that same show and the Democratic presidential candidate had to cancel at the last minute. "I think we looked stupid," he said.
There are three more first-run "Saturday Night Live" episodes before the election. Starting Thursday, NBC is also airing three prime-time editions of the show at 9:30 p.m. EDT.
Palin told reporters on Tuesday she'd love to appear on the show with Fey.
"I love her, she's a hoot and she's so talented," Palin said. "It would be fun to meet her, imitate her and keep on giving her new material."

This is dumb. The republic is in trouble when political candidates are required to do summer stock.
Sounds likely, after all, they did the same thing with Janet Reno.
Forget about it, Sarah, you cannot make them like you or be their buddy. You will likely be blind-sided in some way or another. No way will you gain one vote from this appearance.
I am thrilled as Tina Fey is HOT! Sarah Palin is HOT! What is not to like. This is a night for the guys to enjoy SNL. lol. My wife finds this very funny. Heck we are married 16 years.
This Saturday night Sarah will be in Philly to drop the puck at the Flyers / Rangers game. 7:30 start. Plenty of time to hop over to NYC.
Exactly!
What is it with Republicans? They continually get mocked, ridiculed, and slandered in the media yet they almost invariably come back each time asking for more.
Memo to McCain and Palin: No one in the media, SNL and NBC especially, is your buddy. Do not try to get on their good side because they will only use it against you.
I think she should do it. It would show that she is in touch, and not afraid or intimidated by them.
She should go in with some strong language and comebacks for whatever jokes they attempt.
The attention and exposure would be great.
I agree, “Sock It To Me” worked for Nixon.
I was always lukewarm on Fey looks-wise, but since she's been dressing up as Palin, she's gotten way hotter. She's smoking in that outfit.
Plus, as Palin, she adopts this killer-kitten attitude (sorta-clueless-but-not-really) that is so much sexier than her true-life snarky arrogant NYC bitch vibe.
I’d advise against.
Gov. Palin has already proven, on the campaign trail in front of thousands, that she can laugh at herself.
I still want to see Tina Fey making fun of Palin's swimsuit competition.....
The American public likes it when our politicians can laugh at themselves.
I would say that is especially true of the mushy middle who decide to vote the weekend before the election. They're not really all that interested in policy or political philosophy, they just want the media to entertain them, and that includes the news media. They've heard horrible things about Sarah Palin, by making an appearance on the show, it will signal that most of this is satire, and not to be taken seriously.
There is no point in becoming the butt of the liberals humor by engaging with them. Why become a national punchline like Bob Dole? Don’t do it Sarah!
I think she should do it. Shows a good sense of humor about herself. Can’t hurt.
Tina Fey hates Sarah Palin. She said she’s hoping Palin goes away for good after November. No point in letting someone who despises you ride your coattails to financial success.
Tina Fey has voiced her disdain for Sarah Palin. It is ok to turn the other cheek, but there is no reason to subject yourself to more public ridicule.
Screw the MSM..cancel your cable, cancel your paper..don’t support them in any way.
why does someone have to bring this shit up every weekend? She isn’t going to do it and that skinny, big eared skank on SNL could only dream to look as sweet and lovely as Sarah!
I agree 100%. I think she'd be terrific.
Tough call on this one. Were I advising Sarah, I would say that we first need to see exactly what it is the commies at SNL want to do. So, far, their skits have been savagely mean-spirited, and according to the Washington Times, they are hurting Sarah with independents. It’s all right to laugh at yourself — but not to allow yourself to be the object of ugly ridicule. Also, keep in mind that Tina Fey is sadistically pro-abortion and would use any exchange she had with Sarah to do as much damage as possible on and off the stage.
I'm sure if he knew Palin would be there on stage, there is absolutely no line he wouldn't cross.
He's a bitter classless psychotic asshat.
But can you see Sarah putting up with standing there and being ridiculed? I think they’d have to back down and respect the ‘cuda.

Great insight. I hadn’t even thought of that, but it makes total sense. Sarah has to be very careful on this one, and find her own trusted political advisors to consult. She absolutely cannot trust McCain’s or the RNC’s advisors. Not only are they largely incompetent, but they have a longterm stake in not wanting her to come out of this campaign strong.
She shouldn’t do it.
Sarah, DON’T DO IT, PLEASE.
SNL mocks you every week. They want to make you appear stupid and silly. Don’t walk into their trap.
Please, DONT’ DO IT, SARAH.
