OAKLAND — An Oakland cookie company has closed its doors for good.
After operating in Oakland for 92 years, Mother's Cookies shut down when its parent company filed for bankruptcy protection Monday.

In filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy .. company officials cited rising prices for raw materials and fuel.

An institution here in Oakland...but like Dole, the US Navy, GM, Ford, and other heavy industry and manufacturing...they will all resurface somewhere in the 3rd World at 1/10th the labor cost.

I had a friend who worked for them. He did deliveries. He used to fill out his tax form and list his occupation as “Mothers Trucker”.
