Ok I am a Hispanic. Most Hispanics vote democrat...not only because of welfare, but also because the Republican party has never welcomed or sought after their votes....
Heck half of the Republican party cant understand their are such a thing as a LEGAL MEXICAN!
SOMETIMES I AM VERY INSULTED BY MY OWN PARTY!
I SPEAK SPANISH, NOT ONCE HAVE I GONE TO A PHONE BANK WHERE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS INTERESTED IN THE LATINO VOTE.
WHY WOULD YOU EVER GO TO SOMEONES HOUSE, WHEN YOU DONT FEEL WELCOMED?
Tell us what the GOP could do to entice the hispanics to vote GOP?
Not all of us are interested in race politics. It’s stupid to seek divisions in a nation wove together by many. You can be an American or you can be whatever else you want to be but you can’t be both.
I’m of german heritage, when was the last time you heard us whine about a party not pandering to us?
If they are 'legal', are they still Mexican? You are welcome, now English if you please....
Sort of puts republicans in a bind - either they can lockstep endorse illegal immigration or lose the Hispanic vote.
Better to vote for your economic and political self interest than to vote to encourage others to break the nation's laws. The other approach is to vote for all the handouts possible, which is the viewpoint the Democrats are encouraging.
Don't feel alone. Conservatives often feel the same way.
I'm white (mostly Irish)
If you and I were standing next to each other at a campaign event, in what way am I to understand that you feel less welcome than myself based solely upon your Spanish heritage....and in what way can you reasonably justify your implication that you are entitled to special recognition.
Why did you. As for the ones who vote for Obama, screw them. It's about time for actual Americans to realize their in a war against hostile tribes.
You're being too nice. I'll say it. There are bigots here. There are just too many asshats that think that the republican party is some kind of white people club. Bigotry itself runs counter to the core of conservatism and they need to be weeded out of our party.
McCain has a Spanish language website. He hired Juan Hernandez to be his outreach director. He supports amnesty and guest worker programs. He has voted against English being made the official language of the US. McCain has done all of this and yet is losing by landslide proportions in the Hispanic community. Far better for the Reps to stand on principle than to pander.
OK, well if you are a legal citizen that happens to be Hispanic or descent of... then you are a US citizen or American as we used to call ourselves- just like me. If on the other hand you are a citizen of Mexico that is here legally then you would be a "Legal Mexican" so to speak. If you are a citizen, as far as I know the GOP welcomes any citizen- and if you ever donate even a tiny amount they become close friends- as I can vouch for with my overflowing mailbox. If you really are a "legal Mexican" then you cannot vote in the US legally so why would the GOP care about you?
The Democrats welcome and pander to Blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities as seperate entities- which to me is racist. The Republicans as far as I know treat every voter the same and don't pander to "groups" in particular.
