Fictitious Donors Found in Obama Finance Records
New York Times ^ | October 10, 2008 | Michael Luo and Griff Palmer

Posted on 10/10/2008 3:12:21 PM PDT by Amityschild

Last December, someone using the name “Test Person,” from “Some Place, UT,” made a series of contributions, the largest being $764, to Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign totaling $2,410.07.

Someone identifying himself as “Jockim Alberton,” from 1581 Leroy Avenue in Wilmington, Del., began giving to Mr. Obama last November, contributing $10 and $25 at a time for a total of $445 through the end of February.

The only problem? There is no Leroy Avenue in Wilmington. And Jockim Alberton, who listed his employer and occupation as “Fdsa Fdsa,” does not show up in a search of public records.

The New York Times is actually reporting this ?

Sounds to me like they're intentionally reporting on the smaller of the cases. The idea is to deflect criticism by implying that there may some very small, isolated cases.

The NYT knows the word is getting out, so they can help by giving the impression that the amounts are so small they don't matter. "The Republicans are making a big deal over very minor mistakes" is the message I seem to get from this article.

But even a contributor who used the name “Jgtj Jfggjjfgj,” and listed an address of “thjtrj” in “gjtjtjtjtjtjr, AP,” was able to contribute $370 in a series of $10 donations in August.

A pair of donors named “Derty West” and “Derty Poiiuy,” who listed “rewq, ME” as their addresses and “Qwertyyy” or “Qwerttyyu” as either their employer or occupation, contributed a combined $1,110 in July.

About time they reported on this.

Now...I find it VERY INTERESTING that the writers choose to use the word gibberish in their article because that is the word I chose to use back in early August for these kinds of donations. Coincidence?

From the article:

An analysis of campaign finance records by The New York Times this week found nearly 3,000 donations to Mr. Obama, the Democratic nominee, from more than a dozen people with apparently fictitious donor information. The contributions represent a tiny fraction of the record $450 million Mr. Obama has raised. But the questionable donations — some donors were listed simply with gibberish for their names — raise concerns about whether the Obama campaign is adequately vetting its unprecedented flood of donors.

And then there is Obama's Gibberish Donors ....

I found this last week and posted it on google docs. It's in the article: But even a contributor who used the name “Jgtj Jfggjjfgj,” and listed an address of “thjtrj” in “gjtjtjtjtjtjr, AP,” was able to contribute $370 in a series of $10 donations in August.

Why don’t we ask the Bush DOJ that very question since the FEC has asked the DOJ to look into these type contributions why the President didn’t ask for an investigation?

Why won’t Bush move on this or ACORN? Only reason it is a federal investigation on ACORN is because Fitzgerald refused to close out his ACORN investigation and since it is ongoing, he doesn’t have to get approval.

How about the website of the principal US affiliate of the Socialist International counting Obama as one of its active members?

From the mid 1996 to 2005, Barack Obama attended about half a dozen meetings of the Chicago Democratic Socialist of America [ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=site%3Achicagodsa.org+obama+Town+Meeting&btnG=Search ], the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International [ http://www.dsausa.org/about/index.html ], and draws upon Marxism, religious and ethical socialism to bring about fundamental restructuring of our socio-economic order [ http://www.chicagodsa.org/democraticsocialism.html ]. In the 1990’s, Barack Obama was a member of the Chicago New Party [ http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng42.html#anchor792932 ], another socialist party [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Party_(USA) ].

During meetings of the DSA, Barack Obama has promoted the Marxist concept of a social wage, income redistribution, and the allocation of wages and jobs using labor law reform, public works and contracts [ http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng45.html ].

Barack Obama was the chief sponsor [ http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng96.html#anchor495069 ] of an Illinois bill to set up state-wide universal healthcare [ http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng94.html#anchor349979 ].

In its latest newsletter, the DSA supported Obama’s candidacy, claiming that if Obama explained what his real plans are he would not be elected [ http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng120.html ].

Still reading the article, but PLEASE:

It appears that campaign finance records for Senator John McCain, the Republican nominee, contain far fewer obviously false names, although he has taken in about $200 million in contributions, less than half Mr. Obama’s total. Mr. McCain did collect about $173,000 from donors who appear in campaign finance records with only a name and have no other identifying information. Mr. Obama collected about $314,000 from such donors.

I couldn't BEGIN to tell you how much money the Obama campaign has taken that has a name only. Blanks in the other fields or information requested. PLEASE! There is no way it is only $314k.

The NYT is reporting it because they think Obama is going to win anyway. Then, if they are accused of being too pro Obama, they can point to this article to refute the charge. Unfortunately for them, Obama is NOT going to win. I can’t wait until Nov 5th. The media will implode worse than the Obamaniacs.

Good Will and Doodad Pro were my finds, too. But, do you THINK they could have mentioned the Gaza contributions and the tee shirt purchases?

AND, McCain has a database on his website that has information on ALL of his contributions. Even the under $200 that is not required by the FEC to be reported. Obama won't do the same.

Ok..now to read the thread :-)

It’s just outrageous that this guy has even gotten as far as the Senate and a presidential candidacy, let alone with a lead in the polls.

The local newspaper in my small town has carried NOTHING on these scandals. The local labor unions have purchased advertising billboards all over town expounding on how the Democrats will bring back honesty in government and prosperity in jobs if only everyone votes Democrat this time around. Hell, they all voted Democrat the last time around!

Republicans are a minority here and generally keep their heads down. Since this is a mill town in SW Washington state, the unions have great pull with the voters, who are union members. Small business owners are usually Republican. Where Republicans have some influence ii’s on issues such as abortion and gun rights. Most union people here are social conservatives who hunt and wouldn’t vote for Obama even if he were the only politician on the ballot.

I truly have no inkling of how my county will vote come this November.

There are so many charges that are poised to fall on top of Obama like a ton of bricks, and I'm going out on a limb here by saying that Obama's name may not be on the Ballot as the Democrat Party's candidate come November 4th.

Why?

When the ranking members of the DNC realize that they are going to face some serious jail time for voter fraud, for racketeering, for financial fraud, for money laundering, for legal abuses, for violating the Constitution, for violating the Logan Act, for violating even the Patriot Act, for causing the sub-prime mortgage crisis and bank crisis, guess who will be the ONE tossed under the bus this time?

What's McCain's theme for this election? "America first, liars last."

All it would take to topple this house of cards is for McCain, during the final debate, to make one or more of these simple requests of Obama:

"Prove who you say you are."

Show us the vault copy of your birth certificate."

"Show us the passports you used to travel to Pakistan and Indonesia."

"Tell us why you have been lying about your past, your associates, your campaign finances, your ties to ACORN, your ties to terrorists, your role in the mortgage crisis and bank crisis, and your efforts to steal this election. and disenfranchise the American voter?"

"Senator, the American public deserves to hear the truth about Barack Hussein Obama, if that's even your real name."

"Woludn't thaty be loeverly?"
