McCain tussles with Palin over whipping up a mob mentality
The Sunday Times ^ | October 12, 2008 | Sarah Baxter

With his electoral prospects fading by the day, Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.

McCain has become alarmed about the fury unleashed by Sarah Palin, the moose-hunting “pitbull in lipstick”, against Senator Barack Obama. Cries of “terrorist” and “kill him” have accompanied the tirades by the governor of Alaska against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies.

Mark Salter, McCain’s long-serving chief of staff, is understood to have told campaign insiders that he would prefer his boss, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, to suffer an “honourable defeat” rather than conduct a campaign that would be out of character – and likely to lose him the election.

It looks like native born Americans are going to have to drag McCain kicking and screaming into the Oval Office. We can try I guess. The future of our country depends on him winning this thing.

Obama may well win the election. Then again McCain might win. But you have to admit right now there is a feeling in the air that the gloating on the left has come too soon. It’s not good for the Obama campaign that their supporters think they have won. That doesn’t bring out people like the fear on our side will.

I guess these idiots don’t realize mCCain don’t have a chance unless the voters hear about Obama’s treasonous friends. Not to mention he could have shut down his campaign last month without Palin. Every dime the Party takes in is because of Palin. If McCain gets elected it will be on her skirttails.

What “whacked out mobs”?

Getting real tired of the negative defeated attitude of many here today.

Get your a$$ out there and vote and spread the message.

Quit all the damn whining!

It does seem like he is more concerned about staying on good terms with the Democrats.

Spoken like the loser that RINOs like McCain are.

More PsyOps propaganda.

Buried in the middle of that steaming pile of bull is a ray of truth:

“A spokesman for McCain denied he and Palin had fallen out over her aggressive attacks. “Vice-presidential candidates are typically the tip of the spear and further out in front than the candidate for president. This is pretty standard fare,” he said.”

WTF? Is the MSM shallow enough to actually eat this nonsense up? I thought they had SOME standards. Is it possible that the history books will record McCain’s struggle with the fanaticism of his crowds? MSM, you are outdoing yourself.

I recently saw Neil Cavuto interview Murdoch. Mordoch told Cavoto that he is supporting McCain.

How many cries of “kill him” and “terrorist” have there been at these rallies?

The Media builds random nothings into blazing somethings.

Tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth. Pravda has nothing on these guys.

So McCain's limp campaign is Mark Salter’s fault?

Obama is a Marxist conniving, two-bit crook. Do we want him for our president?

"We" apparently are more concerned about that possibility than McCain, who is worried about losing gracefully rather than having the balls to fight back.

“”McCain will do great on Tuesday!!!””

What are you basing that on other than wishful thinking? He was only good at missing chances in the first two debates. Is he going to come up with another Socialist scheme for this debate?

I’ll believe McCain is “tussling” with Palin when I see heel marks on his forehead.

The things newsmen come up with...

A leading Republican consultant said: “A lot of conservatives are grumbling about what a poor job McCain is doing. They are rolling their eyes and saying, ‘Yes, a miracle could happen, but at this rate it is all over’.

“Sarah Palin is no fool. She sees the same thing and wants to salvage what she can. She is positioning herself for the future. Her best days could be in front of her. She wants to look as though she was the fighter, the person with the spunk who was out there taking it to the Democrats.”

That isn't good when even the 'home team' sees the handwriting on the wall.

Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.

This from the guy only had one reporter to show up when he returned to NH to campaign (while Obama was in Germany).

Then again McCain might win.

I'm not sure that is possible if McCain has given up and is worried about losing with honor.
