Getting Tough on 2 Million Illegal Alien Drivers ( TEXAS )

After the Texas Department of Public Safety estimated 2 million of its 16 million licensed drivers are illegal aliens, the state is denying illegals access to IDs and driver's licenses.

Texas is now requiring applicants to prove legal citizenship status before they can receive or renew their driver's licenses. And the plan goes one step further: Legal immigrants are now required to have their licenses stamped with "temporary visitor" and an expiration date for the applicants stay in the U.S. – a tip-off for police.

Public Safety Commission Chairman Allan Polunsky of San Antonio told the Houston Chronicle he came up with the idea after learning that a Dallas cab driver was transporting illegal aliens into the state so they could receive driver's licenses. Polunsky was disturbed by how effortless the process was for illegals.

Gov. Rick Perry said the move will make Texas more secure.

"Texas is a great place to live and work, and while we welcome legally documented individuals to the Lone Star State, we must ensure that this privilege is not abused by those seeking to enter our country illegally," he said.

This whole business of foreigners being allowed to obtain driver's licenses in America is so ridiculous. We all know that legitimate drivers licenses from foreign countries are honored in America. The ONLY reason for wanting foreigners to be able to obtain American drivers licenses is so that they can go to the next window at the DMV and REGISTER TO VOTE!

Don’t bother. Two years from now it will be illegal to deny illegals anything.

Growing up on a ranch, my parents had a perfect saying for this action now going on in Texas.

“CLOSING THE BARN DOOR AFTER THE HORSES GOT OUT”

I can only hope that this late action will doing something other than attract the attacks the ACLU and other Nazi-like organizations will throw at them.

Good Luck Texas.

Director Jim Harrington of the Texas Civil Rights Project told the Chronicle the idea won't work, because illegal aliens will drive even without licenses, and the policy could cause more problems.

"People have to drive to get to work," he said. "You want people to get (auto) insurance. They can't get insurance if they don't have a driver's license."

In Texas, approximately 27 percent of all drivers are currently operating vehicles without insurance. Harrington said he disagrees with DPS' estimate of 2 million uninsured illegals in the state.

"That's nonsense," he said. "I don't think anybody has any idea."

----------------

There are over 4 million TX drivers without insurance. It's not unreasonable to assume that 1/2 are illegals. Now I see why my insurance is so high.

And that motor-voter thing is so convenient!

Too bad the republicans didn’t “get tough” on these criminals when choosing a presidential nominee.

Two years from now there will be almost no illegals. They will all have been classified legal residents by then. That will end all our problems.

Illegals won’t be doing these things any more.

No more drunk driving
No more highway deaths
No more rapes
No more pedophilia
No more bursting schools
No more U.S. workers being replaced by people willing to work for half of what minimum wage is
No more tens of millions of people who can’t house, feed, or otherwise support their families
No more hospitals having to provide services to those who can’t pay
No more government services handed out to pregnant women
No more children of foreign nationals born here for free

All those who used to be illegal, will then be getting all these services on the up and up as legal residents.

Yep it will all be fixed with a fraction of an ounce of ink.

A number of pens will be handed out so people can point to them decades later and brag about being part of the “FIX”.

Yep, the fix is in.

I guess it was the fact that we are white that caused me to have to provide birth certificates, passports, school enrollment forms and social security cards for my boys when they went to get their licenses here in Texas. What other reason could there be since they’ve been giving illegals licenses for so long. Unbelievable.

Director Jim Harrington of the Texas Civil Rights Project told the Chronicle the idea won’t work, because illegal aliens will drive even without licenses, and the policy could cause more problems. —Is there some reason why they cannot call a taxi or ride a bike or take a bus to get to work.Just throwing your hands up to say we surrender and anybody can drive here...90% will not get auto insurance,if the wages are so low they can hardly afford gas and support a family, there is no money for insurance. Many are incline to partake of the hit and run as there is no paper trail to follow. Many illegals will buy a car as long as the license plates are current they will not tranfer the title into their name therefore leaving said ride still in the owners name. This is why there are so many hit and runs.

LOL, Vincente was sure a sensitive soul. I think he found a way to insult just about everyone in our nation.
