There was no US law at the time of Obama’s birth that would have prevented his mother from traveling back to the US with her foreign born child on her passport. International law has never forced parental separation due to birth circumstances. The result, however, would have involved the child’s citizenship status once arriving at the US and would be doucmented in his birth registration records in the state of Hawaii. Is this the case with Obama? I used to not think so, however, his refusal to provide proof of the most basic of all requirements now opens this possibility.

His possible dual citizenship problem is not with Indonesia, it’s with US.

Dual citizenship is not a violation of any law. It becomes a factor for people who need security clearances (I.E. DOD, defense contractor employees). It will also be a test to article II of the constitution regarding elligibility to hold POTUS. If he never renounced it, it is not very clear that he ever lost it. (Unlike his Kenyan citizenship which automatically expired under Kenyan law).

If this is a wild goose chase, this lawsuit would have been crushed on day 1. And if a goose chase, Obama has been completely incompetent in handling this issue.

You can’t just go around filing lawsuits, its not free. Unless you’re proceeding pro se and meet some special requirements where they waive the fee. It may cost as high as $84.00 in some state courts. Federal Court filings are usually more expensive and may be as high $350.00. Its best to have an attorney but the courts do allow people to represent themselves pro se. Complaints may be accompanied by an application to proceed in forma pauperis, meaning that the plaintiff is incapable of paying the filing fee.
