Plouffe on Fox: '24-hour ACORN channel' (its worrrrrrking alert!!)
politico.com ^ | OCT 14 2008 | housedeep

Posted on 10/14/2008 11:48:33 AM PDT by housedeep

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe, making the case that the charges against ACORN aren't relevant, called them a "smokescreen" and a "permission structure" for attempts to disenfranchise voters.

"This is just the start of what is going to be a very deliberate and cynical attempt to create confusion, to challenge people inappropriately," he said.

The amount of time the GOP is spending driving a message about ACORN is, indeed, striking — any day that's about ACORN isn't about experience, or Obama's associations, or McCain's biography, or the economy. So far, it hasn't been met by a legal effort to challenge voters on the ground, though that could change.

Plouffe, in any case, noted the focus on the conservative message machine: "We understand that Fox News Channel is turning themselves into the 24-hour ACORN channel," he said.

attempt to create confusion

Yeah. ACORN is just trying to create a well laid out, unconfused, smooth running election. The best way to do that is to get registrations from human amoebas, family pets, the dead, the illegals, and everyone but valid voters. It's the only way to stop the Republicans attempt to dirty up this election.(/s)

What can us average Joes do to help the situation? I feel powerless.

Write a letter to the editor (mention that voter fraud is a felony). Volunteer to be a poll watcher. Email the networks to investigate. Make some noise.

You want to find out what a libs malfeasance is? Pay attention to what he is accusing conservatives of.

Then Poofda won’t mind if the media conducts a huge investigation into Obama’s ACORN activities and airs it on the nightly news. We know that won’t happen.

Federal prosecutors left over from the Clinton Administration that the “compassionate conservative” should have fired on day one.

What will be done now? A lot of screaming and hand wringing. But they will NOT over turn or even delay the election. Too many fraidy cats.

I have been following the stories on Free Republic. I swear myself out refreshing and scrolling and clicking but I have not seen any definitive info on what is being done. Why in the heck isn’t law enforcement prosecuting these people. I am so angry about all of this.........it is ruining my otherwise sunny personality

There are rumblings of a prosecutor looking into a RICO indictment. However, Obama and ACORN are trying to run out the clock on prosecutions. After a certain point (I believe it varies per state), registrations can no longer be challenged and absentee ballots are accepted into the counting process. If they can use legal shenanigans to stall, Obama is a very happy man.

WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT THEM?

The only thing the election commissions can do is put ACORN ballots aside and try to validate each one. Without validity, they're bogus.

All around the country ACORN is flooding the election - the same way they flooded the housing market that led to the crash. If Oboma loses, and I think he will, they can scream "racism" and "unfair election." It worked for Oboma in Kenya when he was counseling Odinga. Of course, Odinga then went on to commit genocide after he lost. I hope the Oboma supporters aren't that radical (but one never knows).

Good first post, and welcome. There are a number of methods being used to detect and delete the bodus registrations, some more effective than others. In some states, judges are blocking the best remedies, and in others, ACORN is taking an absolute beating (politically).

Keep an eye out for the "acorn" keyword - it will help you to assemble all of the info that is available on this site.

Was I kind enough ?!? ;-P

Speak up!

Email or call your senators and congresspeople, the Dept. of Justice, the (6th?) Circuit court in Ohio. Let them know you support a federal investigation of ACORN. Make some noise!

Somebody should make the point that the only thing that is being disenfranchised is fraud.

Should all ACORN ballots be cancelled if they cannot be confirmed as legit?

Are they all marked as ACORN? (Some are.)

Lucky for us, most of the bogus ones have already been turned in. They've been working on them for months. Those can still be checked.

I hope after this, people will be screaming for a voter ID system. No one, not even democrats, want their voices silenced, because some day it could be the Republicans doing the same thing in the name of fairness, and the democrats will be called on to obey their OWN bogus rules.

What we need is an immediate announcement announcement of a no-$hit full-blown Federal RICO investigation into ACORN. I don’t think they can stand that kind of scrutiny, and it would have the Obamunists running like their pants were on fire, and their asses were catchin’....
