Steve Corbett, a radio talk show host in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, received a copy of an internal email sent by Grant Olan who heads the Wilkes-Barre headquarters of the Obama campaign. The email went to 627 Obama campaign volunteers in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton region, saying that Obama Headquarters reported an internal poll which shows that Obama is only 2 points up in Pennsylvania.
Sean Smith, who is heading Obama's Pennsylvania campaign, was interviewed by Steve Corbett via phone at 5:35 today to discuss this. He said that Grant "went rogue", and aknowledged that Grant was "reprimanded" for this. Sean would not deny that the internal poll showed this, and his words were carefully chosen.
There is a reason why McCain and Palin are spending so much time in PA and reasons why they are spending time and money in Maine and New Hampshire, too. On the flip side, there may be good reasons why they’ve abandoned Michigan that we are not aware of.
Don’t want to get their base comfy.....
Hmmm. Wonder what their Florida and Ohio “internal polls” show. This is the best thing I’ve heard all freakin day!
AND, I wonder if we’ll hear about this on the news tonight. Uh, prolly not.
wow!!!!!
makes a ton of sense to me...
there are so many forces at play here people..dont believe the media polls!!!!!
FYI FWIW
Up 2 still makes him a winner in PA...internal polls are generally better than external....
That could have been a fake poll result sent to make them work harder...
It is likely that the polls in states and nation-wide have been tampered with by the liberals.
This is so exciting! If we have any chance at winning PA.... that would be a miracle!
I call BS on this.
bump!
Holy Crap Click Thishttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2100711/posts?page=1
I think some of those Penn residents heard and understood when Biden said “We do not support clean coal”. Me thinks Penn will go red.
If I were running....I’m sure my staff would have my internal polls showing a lead as well...
it would make sense as why would obama keep going back there and sending people on his behalf and why would McCain still be spending money and spending time there
I bet the internal polls are a lot different than the bias medias are
I spoke with someone today who said that NH is very much game for McCAIN
That would be great news...but you don’t think it might be a feint?
Before D-Day the allies put an already dead body in the sea and gave him a fake identity and fake papers indicating a different time and place for D-Day...it was a ruse...
I do think this seems right about where the election is in PA...given how much time that McCain and Palin seem to be spending there...
Michigan is, and always was, a lost cause-—like NJ. When you have a state so in the crapper that keeps electing a Dem governor, don’t waste your money. I think McCain should pull out of NM, too. The race is NV, CO, OH, VA, and FL. PA would be a killer, and if the Messiah is only leading by two, I think he’s cooked.
Being a Pennsylvanian this disgusts me that citizens of my State would hate America so much as to inflict this dangerous socialist on us all.
As in spy. *snicker*
Whoa!!
We have to tell the voters about the coal issue more blatantly, particularly in the Pittsburgh market.
Like McCain doesn’t have competent pollsters?
Thats without bradley, if he is up two in internal polling odumbo is history
This would explain the heavy campaigning by McCain-Palin in PA!
We are going to win PA!!!
Up 2% now, three weeks before election day is a very weak position especially since the polls will tighten before then.
and when we get a sneak peak at an internal from either side , trust it more than any media invented poll.
What it shows me is what a lot of people have been saying for months. This election is going right down to the wire. All of these gloom and doom polls and electoral college landslides for Barry have a purpose ... to make the conservative base stay home because it’s a “lost cause.” It’s not. McCain-Palin can still win. The MSM has been in the tank for quite some time. That’s why they are not to be trusted. If they say Barry is up 5 or 6 in one state, it’s probably tied. One poll had Barry up 8 in West Virginia. NO WAY!!! Absolutely, NO WAY!!! These polls are complete BS.
McCain supporters are foolish to believe these media polls.
I know there is some risk of that but they really should look at polling in previous elections.
This is a concerted effort at vote suppression by the Media.
The pollsters are under huge pressure to jack up these polls for the ONe.
Why would they need to work harder if they were up 10 pts. like the media polls show?
“Look at where the candidates are campaigning and look at the crowds each draw , don’t look at the media invented polls.
and when we get a sneak peak at an internal from either side , trust it more than any media invented poll.”
Good advice! Thanks!
The only thing that bugs me about the poll suppression theory is that McCain’s campaign acknowledges he’s down 6 nationwide (as of yesterday). I think it’s all about the Dem weightings based on bogus ACORN registrations. Just wonder if McCain camp uses same weightings as other polling outlets?
ping!
Thought you would take great interest in this.
Thats before the ads about odumbos talk with the plumber. Odumbo cannot pull away and I have not seen a McCain ad here in so fl in weeks
That’s more like it. It explains why both campaigns have been pushing hard lately in PA.
“I spoke with someone today who said that NH is very much game for McCAIN”
Please share.
What also lends credence to this is Obama’s focus on campaigning in Philly, in which should be a lock for him.
You can tell by looking at Mac’s campaign calander that they think they have a good shot at taking PA & NH.

“Being a Pennsylvanian this disgusts me that citizens of my State would hate America so much as to inflict this dangerous socialist on us all.”

Which is exactly how the residents of Massachusetts SHOULD feel in enabling the national infestation of the ghastly trifecta of:
Kennedy/Kerry/Frank
Yes that spread the wealth comment to the plumber should have dragged him down. McCain and Palin have to play it up. I tend to think back in the 1980s before journalism died that even some mainstream media outlets would have made an issue of that.
This 2 point internal is very encouraging if it is correct but I find it a little hard to believe that info got out. Did someone leak it? Why would they send what sounds like a private email to a radio guy?
Is it ever possible for Our Team to be optimistic? ABC 6 is just saying we are behind in the high double digits (Vernon ODEM, Star Reporter)! That we now know their own internals show a dead heat!! YES!!! A DEAD HEAT!! and the RATS are factoring in their PHILLY FRAUD!!
You may want to stick your head in the mud! But this is FANTASTIC NEWS for US PENNSY RED BLOODS that LOVE Our RELIGION, GUNS, FAMILY, AND OUR COUNTRY!
AND WE HATE AND DETEST FRAUDS AND LIARS LIKE OBAMA!!
Maybe Republicans perform better under pressure? I tend to believe that, in general. Maybe that’s why.
Having been both a successful candidate and a campaign manager of a few local & regional races here in Minnesota, I can attest to the fact that you never telegraph negative internal polling numbers to the press. I seriously doubt McCain’s people would be so free with discussing being down 6 points if this was actually the case. So either McCain’s folks have indeed thrown in the towel or else this is something else. I believe this is about whose base is fired up more. Beyond the group of Obambi cult worshipers, there are a lot of Dem-leaning folks who are ambivalent about the election but will vote if it seems like their vote will swing things. If those people believe their guy is going to win by such huge numbers it doesn’t matter - there’s a chance they don’t show up to vote at all. Looking at the numbers Palin is pulling in alone, I’m inclined to think those on the Right (and those who aren’t keen on USA going socialist) are far more scared, mad and motivated than their counterparts.
You very well could be right. Or you could be wrong. I'm looking at it this way: many of the polls are slanted towards Obama, the media is in the tank for Obama, yet Palin drew a lot more at her rally in Scranton today (a working day) than did the "big guns" rally in the same venue this past Sunday (when many had the day off) which included Biden, Hillary, and Bill. Northeast PA is Hillary country, and there are MANY Dems saying they will vote McCain. We'll know on Nov. 4.
I guess this post validates yours. I sure hope so!
I believe it. It isn’t hard to figure out. You read the poll internals for all these polls showing Obama with huge leads, you note the usual ridiculous oversample of Democrats, you re-adjust the numbers based on the state’s actual demographics and voting history, rinse and repeat as needed. And besides, I personally had PA in a dead heat.
Those of us who actually know how to read and dissect the polls are not one bit surprised by this. It also helps greatly to pay attention to where both sides actually spend their time compaigning. If you have been paying attention, you already know that both sides have recently spent a great deal of time in Pennsylvania.
If this is true it shows Dem internal polling, possibly McCain’s as well, does not assume such large Dem weighted models. 2004 was supposed to be a big year for Dems, reality, 37% Repub and 37% Dem, in 2006 the Dems had a 2 advantage. I don’t buy these grossly weighted samples that are being pushed. FYI, IBD/TIPP will be posting their newest tracking poll tomorrow. Go Mac!!!
It very well COULD be a feint, but then again, there is evidence that it may not be.
